Of course, ver 5.1 works well, so you don't NEED the upgrade, if you can get 5.1 cheap. How about $89?
No, but since I'm a registered owner I could do that for you. I'll try to find out.

#2.0 more guru-proof?
Message #50490
I'm currently using version 1.3 on an A2000. After using several different programs (multitasking), the Amiga will eventually bomb to the Guru when I try to open another task (not because of memory shortage). I've just accepted this as the nature of the beast, but I'd be very leary about…

#Redirect print? HelpPlz!
Message #37100
Hi, can anyone help me? I don't have a printer connected to the Bridgeboard side of my system, and anyway I want the output of a program which runs on the BB to go to a file rther than the printer. I want this so I can transfer the (ASCII)…

#Mouse Pointer Blinks?
Message #9438
My mouse will all of a sudden form a vertical line accross the screen, with the same colors as the positer. When I touch the mouse the pointer comes back. Why? Don't know. – Emb
According to the "readme" there are a couple of bugs that might cause problems in certain situations. PKZIP1.lzh also has a program that "fixes" bad ZIP files so you can recover stuff from them. – Emb
#got old ZIP by mistake
Message #5215
Since PKZIP1.lzh completely supercedes PKAZIP.lzh and ZIP.lzh in Lib 5, why not get rid of the old ones (free up the libarary space and don't fool new users into getting the old ZIP), and rename the new one to PkaZip.lzh or ZIP.lzh. – Emb
Great! Where in CIS can I find this UNZIP? – Eric
Thanks, I've got that, but it's so BIG! Was hoping for a ZIP "reader." – Emb
#Un-ZIPping program?
Message #5014
Is there an UNZIP program for Amiga here or at Amigatech? One that just de-ZIPs ZIPped files (I don't want to download the whole packge). If so, where is it? (What library)? Thanks. – Eric
Everybody who helped, thanks for your help. I will go try your suggestions, and see what works! – Eric
To repeat: I have Janus 2.0 sw on the Amiga side. On the MS-DOS side, all I have is the JLINK.COM and JDISK.SYS that I have always had. Is this what you are calling MS-DOS Janus software?? To repeat, if it is, where can I get the "new" ones? Thanks,…
Yes, thanks! Where can I get those IIP mem boards? – Emb
I'm still using Janus 2.0 – is there a new IBM file I'm supposed to get for the IBM side? Whence? – Emb
#BridgeBoard HELP!?
Message #2013
I'm having a bit of trouble with my BridgeBoard. From workbench, I run "PCDisk" and "PC Mono". Everything seems to work OK; I can do "DIR" to see the contents of A: (my 5.25" floppy) and B: (my 3.5" floppy). But then I do "JLINK" and return, and everything freezes…

#LHArc 1.20
Message #114980
Is the LHArc version 1.20 LZH dated 7/22 in the library the same one as the version 1.2 that was in the library a week or so before that? – Emb
duh – I give up. – Emb
It's called CRYPT.ZOO in library 6 (Black Belt Systems) of AmigaVendors forum (GO AMIGAVEND). – Emb
Ah… it was you! Thanks… it works great!
Thanks! I found a CRYPT that works AOK in the AMigavendor forum (thanks whoever told me about that one!)
#Please release me!
Message #107722
Khalid, Often a stupid program will bomb or exit without closing some file(s). Then, when I try to delete the files I get, "can't delete – file in use." It would be great to have an "UNLOCK" utility which would solve the problem short of re-booting. Any thoughts? – Emb
Exactly my conclusion. So, is there a PD or ShareWare "encrypt" program available anywhere? Anyone have one to upload? – Emb
Right, Betty, I also found them… in the index, but "bro crypt" finds only CRYPT.LZH. Same with trying to download CRYPT.ARC – "file not found." – Emb
Any encrypt programs?
Message #106844
I'm looking for a program which encrypts (and decodes) files. There's something in LIB 13 that encrypts DATA (CRYPT.LZH), but it seems to be for using in your "c" programs and doesn't work by itself (bombs me out, anyway). There uses to be a CRYPT.ARC which supposedly worked on files,…
Well, yeh, I suppose I could add "Delete ram:Disk.info", thus saving 282 bytes in ram:, but then I'd lose that ever-important 22 bytes on my hard disk, and besides, my startup-sequence takes too long already! – Emb
Phil, You can do that sort of thing by saving your Disk.info files after you do a snapshot. Here's what I do for ram: First I move the ram: icon to where I want it, then double click the icon and set up the window the way I want it,…
If Quarterback does mind the datestamps, filenotes and file attribute bits, then it sounds good indeed! I'll wait 'till I outgrow my 20 Meg HD before spending the $50 though. – Thanks! – Emb

Whoops! I mean Disk Mechanic 2.3, not Workbench 2.3 – Emb
Vic, The version on the BBS is Workbench 2.3, but most of the programs say version 2.4 or later. My versions don't (and never have) had any trouble seeing my DF0:, but then I don't have a JH0: . I have DH0: FH1: FH2: DF0: and DF2: – Maybe it's…

Since I live far away from any Amiga dealer, I had to buy through mail order, and it would have been very inconvenient to ship the whole thing back to them just for the bridgeboard. Besides, I'm not a hardware guy and wouldn't even know how to open a computer…
Thanks, Don. I tried the AWRITE using /b and it worked fine. I never would have figured it out if you hadn't told me. I wonder about the other Amiga users who don't happen to subscribe to CIS. Don't you think CBM might have a technical support phone number that…
Thanks, Don. It's hard to figure out how to use new features when there's no documentation. How did you find out about the /b switch ? I'll try it as you suggested.

What /b switch? The examples on pages 57 & 58 of the bridgeboard user's guide don't show any such. My file is T3.EXE (on the PC side). I just tried "AWRITE tb\T3.EXE dh1:T3.EXE /b" from PC side of my hard disk e:\tb\T3.EXE to Amiga side dh1:T3.EXE . It looked like…
