#Morph+UpGrade
Message #52215
Just got a FREE upgrade to MorphPlus V1.2.0 today. Suprise Suprise! Thank You. Goes to show some companies really do care about their customers. Patrick
Paul, I had a problem with my floptical – the system would not find it from a cold boot. I could either warm boot or figure out a mount list and do it the old way. I have an A3000 with the newer controller however. This mount list worked for…

#Serial?CMD?2232?
Message #32625
David, I took your advice and upgraded to 2.1 hoping to cure the problem. 2.1 is nice and fixed a few other things like rescanning the scsi drives but still no luck with the serial port. Neither the dealer, nor C= tech support have been much help. This is especially…
Steven, Thanks for the AREXX & serial info. Patrick
The problem with imagines fog objects are that they do not work! Actually they do work until you try to use a backdrop image in your animation and then they go 100% transperant. Since I use backdrop images extensively this was a major shortcoming. Patrick
Script Base Modeler
Message #26144
Chianly, The May 1992 Volume 3, Issue 5 of "The Amiga Video Journal" (Avid) featured on it's cover a picture generated by a script based modeling, rendering and animation package call RayDance writen by Charlie Comstock. It looks very impressive and has some interesting features that are not currently available…
David, What you are describing is "keying". It gets confusing because what we all call genlocks are really keyers that also genlock TO THE AMIGA. Got that? 🙂 Keying is replacing one color with another source and genlocking is matching timing. The toaster does a creditable job of luminance keying.…
Eugene, Turning the trace reflections options on and carefully arranging your lights will work – but depending on how you intend to show the backboard, a partially faded out image map to simulate the reflection would be much faster. However, if the camera is moving or the reflected images are…
#Serial?CMD?2232?
Message #31727
Hello! Does anyone know if there is a version of CMD available that is compatible with an A2232 multiserial board? The board requires the replacement of the serial.device and CMD then refuses to operate. All access to ser: is denied as a matter of fact. Since most applications look for…
Earl, Arexx is tough without a manual ( and even then ). I have been wrestling with ARexx and the serial port for months now with limited success. The manuals tell you about syntax and the various elements but don't say much about the overall organization (how to put a…
James, My A3000/1950 combo is also flaky – I get the shaking but not the blackout. Lately it has only been a problem on initial cold boot when the machine is cold and goes away after about a minute or two. Video adjust does not help. My dealer said that…

Wayne, I agree!!! Please see my message in section #3,28. Your suggestion is even better but requires a wait 🙂 Patrick
LW Record Redir?
Message #50590
Bob, Is there anyway to redirect the record panel commands from the internal serial port to another serial port or an arexx port? I have a Cozzy/A3000 along with a 2232 multiserial card and a panasonic 2022 OMDR. The laser disc recorder is running from the multiserial board and the…
Hi David, Thanks for the info. Patrick
Tim, DCTV is a great product – I use it often and like it very much. However, because of the way it performs its magic, it has limitations. Primarily, ALL manipulations of the data have to occur within the DCTV software. External programs can only playback what has been created…
Pat, I also HAD a Live2000! board that I tried to get to work on my A3000. I finally gave up and sold it. Never worked – same as yours. I have not heard of anyone getting the live board to function on a 3000, but good luck anyway. Patrick
Serial I/O Help?
Message #29204
Could someone please suggest a reference to me for serial communications on the Amiga? I have an A3000 with a 2232 multi-serial card. I am interested in sending and receiving messages through the serial port(s) under ARexx control. I have had limited sucess so far in sending info but not…
Arnie, Thanks for the reply, I figured it out over the weekend and now have a stable display. I realized that the RGB port needed to be connected or terminated (as stated in the Manual!) and that having the 31 KHz port connected did not matter. I also readjusted the…
Paul, Syquest carts are expensive, flopticals are more compact, I need to write MSDOS data in chuncks larger than 700K, and I find I use my syquest as another drive rather than a backup device. So now I have even more data to backup. Floptical disks are rather expensive right…
I'm still waiting for my floptical drive to arrive but – I think that Amiga DOS handles it just like a removable media hard drive. I also have a 44meg Syquest and anticipate setting up the floptical in a similar way. So that you don't trash disks when changing them…
A3000 Toaser 1950 🙁
Message #22477
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get a stable de-interlaced diplay on a 1950 multi-sync monitor while the Toaster is running in a Toaster Cozzy on an A3000? I have a 1084 and a TV for my Preview and Program monitors. Thanks, Patrick
Toaster & 1950 Help!
Message #73079
Can anyone tell me how to get a stable display on a 1950 monitor? I have an A3000, Toaster, Toaster Cozzy, 18megs Ram. I want (if possible) to use the 1950 as an interface monitor through the deinterlaced multisync port. I have a 1084 as my preview monitor and a…
Shraddhan, The Syquest would work great for your fonts etc. What you have to do is have enough room on your hard drive or RAM: to hold the data for a particular project. You can change the Syquest carts anytime so all you need is a handy spot to put…
Shraddhan, I have a Syquest that I bought for backup purposes. What finally dawned on me was that using the Syquest for backup is VERY expensive. So now I use it like an extra hard disk and have three times as much data to back up! Central Coast Software is…
All Right!!! I could not have said it better!!! too bad some of the people making the decisions (read politicians) would get the facts rather than jumping to the latest fad ( source separation ) I have argued this point publicly for years but no one is listening! Believe it…
Steve, Hogwash! I can believe 10% but no more. As far as statistics go you can make them say anything. I would have to look at that study very carefully before I trusted it. A common thing that happens is that people improperly prepare what they consider to be recyclibles,…
Ben, I've often had the same thoughts, but I don't expect to see it in my lifetime! I'm not sure making a new landfill site on the moon would really do anything other than postpone the problem for our children to deal with. How about this – shoot it to…
Mark, Well…. OK they didn't exactly hang up. but that's how I felt! The operator would not answer any of my questions or give me the name of anyone at C= who could help. She coldly told be that I should contact my dealer and made it clear with her…
A3000 Rom Tower
Message #66580
Hello, I am having a very difficult time locating a ROM tower for my revision 6.1 A3000 mother board. This is an adaptor that provides sockets for OS roms. Comodore says go through the dealer and the dozen or so dealers I have talked to say that they can't get…
Hi, Not your typical Amiga forum conversation! However, I happen to be in the landfill business. My family owns and operates a medium sized landfill in northeastern Ohio. I don't agree with everything that has been discussed, but the regulatory comment is spot on, but that is only the tip…
George, I have a DeskJet 500C that works on my Amiga system. It has 300dpi and 24bit color. I have it connected to the parallel port and am using a public domain printer driver. Not all features are supported by the driver I think. i.e. font changes from inside Excellence!.…
Hi, I have a used Live2000! along with Invision software that won't work on my A3000 and would be willing to sell it. If your interested let me know. Patrick 72210,1702
The Live2000! board definitely DOES NOT work in a 3000! I have both They were supposed to upgrade the live2000 to work in the A3000. I sent for info over a year ago an never heard a word back. Patrick
Mike, Thanks for the FC24 & IV24 info. I have been considering a multifunction board but have not decided yet. The FC24 is cheaper (less features) but doesn't take up the video slot so I can decide later which do-it-all board I need an still probably be able to use…
Thanks Pete, This is what I suspected, but wanted to check before I committed cash 🙂 Patrick
Pete, I understand that the FC 24's RGB output is very good and that the quality of the encoded composite result is dependent on the encoder. What I am trying to find out is how the output of the FC 24 encoded with a SuperGen, (which I already have) compares…
Hello, Does anyone know how the firecracker's output genlocked from an A3000 through a SuperGen compares to the output from DCTV? I have DCTV and am considering getting FC24 for single frame work – but there is no point if after encoding the output is no better than DCTV. Your…

Impulse, Does PP's RamBrant exist – and if it does is there a version of Imagine being writen for it? Thanks, Patrick
Paul, Glad to help. Patrick
I have an A3000 (no tower) with 70 & 80ns speed chips mixed in the Fast Ram section and am not having any problems. 1×4-80 SC Zips and 1×4-70 SC Zips. Patrick

I like Access! by Keith Young – shareware It is simple, full featured and works under 2.0 My thoughts! Patrick
Paul, Go into preferences and adjust the screen the way you want it. Instead of clicking on the save button – hold the right mouse button and use the menu choices at the top of the screen. Make sure the save icon option is turned on and save the screen…
I dont have any experience with Framegrabber – so I cant help you there. I do have a supergen genlock and a DCTV. The additional colors available with the DCTV allow the NTSC output to look much better than a ham image output through the genlock. VistaPRo output through the…

Message #15064
I Agree!!! DCTV Is Awesome!!! Patrick
I ordered my 2.0 upgrade today (12/19) and they said it would ship tomorrow. Patrick
bob From your description of the application I would think that you would nonot only want an automatic setup but also a fast one. The draw back to using AniMagic (great prog.) is that the processing takes a long time. I have been experimenting with Delux Video III but the…

ARP Help
Message #4031
I have down loaded VLT4P8 and cannot get it to run. I get a pop-up window with the message: "Init – Can't open ARP library" I am using an A3000HD40. What is the ARP library and where should it be? I have rexxarplib.library. I am unfamiliar with how ARexx looks…
Keep the Insider! My rejuvenator works with my One Meg Insider. If space is a problem then use an extender cable on the video slot.
The DXF module sounds like exactly what I need. Thank You Patick
