Hi Steve, don't suppose you would know where/if you can still get a copy of it??…I asked once before, but couldn't get back online here to check for replies. Now,well when this local Australian access gets established, you will see more of me here, like it or not 😉 !! C u…
Hi Mark, well as I said,it is just a unsubstantiated rumour, but crikey if there is any truth in this rumour there is going to be a lot of broken software. C u laitr Brendan Pratt – Queensland,Australia.
Hi ya Cheryl, well as I said it is only a rumour, but it certainly will cause problems if it is half true. I hope it isn't though. Yup,we will all have to take that same wait and see approach, and just hope this rumour is just that. C u laitr Brendan Pratt…
Hi Jack,I now see why there are very few v32 HST's over there now….I have the same troubles trying to connect at v32 to Inner Circle BBS and just about every other DST over there, except for Duck Pond BBS. I understand v42 is creating a lot of hassles with quite…

G'day Cheryl,Talking about things that are going to break under 2.0,have you heard the rumour that all MANX 'c' programs are likely to fall over due to something weird in the way MANX works??? Should be interesting to see if these rumours are remotely true,as there must be a fair…
MNP Modems
Message #105090
Hi Betty, Auto-Reliable mode tries for the highest level of MNP that it currently supports then drops down until it finds either a lower level MNP connect,or just a normal connection. Reliable mode will do the first part, but if it is *not* MNP,most modems will drop carrier..so it's either MNP…

Message #105089
Hi Richard,I'd go one up on what Jack recommends if you can afford it by going to a HST Dual Standard modem….these support v32 9600,which can be very handy if you decide to call outside the USA,as a HST will only talk to another HST at 9600,whereas a DS HST…
Hi Perry, forgive me please…i've now used other comms packages without those hassles…all I can say now is that i'm most impressed with the Dual Serial Board….you can quote me if you like 🙂 C u laitr Brendan Pratt – Queensland,Australia. Beautiful one day, Perfect the next!

Hi Darren, why don't you remind him in a msg, that you still haven't been upgraded in status yet??…if he is anything like me,you tend to forget to upgrade a user, unless they remind you. BTW, my BBS over here is the 1st Paragon BBS down under ,and if you are feeling generous…
G'day Rick,so the HardFrame will be supported on the AMAX..might buy a AMAX sometime soon then…wouldn't if I couldn't use my HardFrame HD with it. C u laitr Brendan Pratt – Queensland,Australia. Beautiful one day, Perfect the next!

Dual Serial Board probs
Message #15698
G'day Perry, well for starters i'm getting corrupted data back from the modem via the DSB,which is the same sort of troubles any PAL machine user has from the CBM standard serial port. The modem still appears to be able to recieve the data from the computer, but I still doubt it…
G'day Darren, well I spoke to Jon the other day,and mentioned that someone wasn't too impressed with him (Couldn't remember your name at the time).Anyway,he told me that my original order hadn't been shipped yet,but would be leaving by the beginning of next week….your one, well he didn't know there was anyone…

Question of Dual Serial
Message #14882
That's why I wanted to know how a mail-order house would be able to identify between a 6 and 8Mhz DSB…I want to buy the 8Mhz one of course(doesn't everyone else??),and want whoever I buy it off to know for sure the right one to send out to me. C…
Hi Perry, whilst on the subject of the DSB,how easy is to upgrade to more serial ports than what is already on the card, and obviously the approximate cost of doing that upgrade per serial port(or per 2 serial ports) ?? How many of the older DSB's where sent out,and would you…
G'day David, well at a guess i'd say that 1.4 is nowhere near finished,as the talk around the traps is that 1.4 Beta has only just gone out to developers,so it's going to be a while before we see Gamma versions, then of course the release of it…My bet is November/December for…

Message #82395
Yes, it is possible for an Amiga to run at 19.2kbps to a modem..well a NTSC Amiga that is…the PAL machines have some hassles running above 9600 without losing stuff.

G'day Chris,I've ordered from only once, but they promptly filled my order and sent it over pretty quickly…someone will no doubt have problems at some stage, but I guess that's just one of the possible problems of mail-order! Message #77758
Would that really effect anyone from writing a program to download those fonts from the Amiga disk to the printer???….it's up to the person that uses that program get those Adobe fonts whichever way they want (like buying the Adobe MAC disks, and copying them across to their own Amiga disk.).…

Amiga BBS networking?
Message #77756
Know exactly what you mean!!…i've had it happen a few times myself….mind you if it is a task held type guru, you just wait for them to logoff,as it is only that particular task being held!!…mind you , not everyone can hang around waiting waiting for a user to log off…
G'day Steve, how is developement going on the PAL version of PEN PAL ??? C u laitr Brendan Pratt – Queensland,Australia. Beautiful one day, Perfect the next!
Well I think it did save AND print….dunno what had been done to it by the pirates, but I ain't going to say too much more about WP from pirated copies that come my way…in fact running a bbs dedicated to Amiga's,i'll be letting my users know about these problems before…
Ok Rick,if you want an inbetween Amiga, how about an A900,a machine with relocatable kbd (like the A1000 up),with A500 guts, and perhaps a A2000 slot onboard for say a HD or Network(Ethernet) card…maybe 2 slots. The only problem then is that it may just get too expensive…as in getting too close…
Well IMHO,the A500 should stay as it is,but with a decent sized power supply,as over here in OZ we have the same problem of an under-sized power supply…..keep the current video out slot,so obviously the A520 remains as it is. Anymore mods to the A500 is going to simply make…

I really hope this won't stop people like Jay from going to these expo's,and appearing inside people's booths, just so that no-one gets the wrong impressions of endorsement or otherwise. C u laitr Brendan Pratt – Queensland,Australia. Beautiful one day, Perfect the next!
I just took the fact that Jay was doing that more for a gimmick than actually endorsing the product….and anyway Jay is just like the rest of us these days anyhow (am I right in saying that??)…it's just that he had a lot to do with the Amiga in it's…

Thanks Brian, does that mean that the HD controller on the 030 card has problem only if you have another HD controller on the system??…if that's so,that'd mean the card would be ideal for someone planning to go 030 at a later date (that's of course if you can buy it…

Message #21443
Fair comment Richard,I can fully see the way things are progressing with DTP and the 386/486 machines will take a lot of beating, but as i've said before maybe Adobe might consider an Illustrator for the Amiga *IF* there is enough demand for their product…this may include a petition to them…
