Stephen, Try slowing down the Boot process by using the DOS 6 single step boot, you also may want to pause before loading MSCDEX. it might be that the player/driver is not fully initialized before the drivers try to test for it. Does your problem occur on CTL-ALT-DEL restarts or…

Rich, In WINCIM the actual steps are to select FORUM DATABASE under the SPECIAL menu, then delete CDROM. If I recall, just deleting CDROM from favorite places didn't work. I found out about WINCIMs strangeness when you added us to CDVEND. One of the odd things is that DOSCIM handles…

Ed, Knowing what titles you are having the problem with would help us. Also do you have a sound board, if so which one. A wild guess is that the Audio you get is CD-DA red-book, no sound card needed. The movies that crash are calling a soundcard driver that…

Eric, Kathys' comments are very good guesses. Several comments though. (1). "Client wants to hear speeches on standard audio player". This limits you to 74 minutes and 99 audio tracks (2). If it was a computer accessed player. you can double this by only recording each speech on a single…

Glenn, feasible, but not very cost effective. Assuming you could get an extremely cheap CD one-off made, i.e. < $150, it wouldn't take many discs to add up to more than you would pay for a very nice tape unit. if you use CI$ or EMAIL. you could justify the…
