Not a secret. It's for an automated highway system someone is going to try to sell to congress. The Jungle is doing well, still trying to tweek it out though.
You bet! Let's get a new one! Chris AM Labs
That will not work. INTERLNK requires one of the machines to run INTERSVR. INTERSVR does not allow you to do anything else.
Why, the short fat one, of course
I have 3D Studio's bar-code tatooed on my upper right arm. 3" x 2". Not my Social Serial Number, but the animation/modeling/rendering software I personally think is THE Best (All things considered). I've been a PC Repairman since XT's, and when 3DS 2.0 came out, I discovered what I wanted…
Really. He just got here a few minutes ago, and I'm unpacking him to put him on the Cowboys Projects. L8r
Let me just assure you that it works. I'm sure you understand. Depending on which unit you buy, the RAM is distributed differently.

Actually, we went in a different direction, though I wouldn't say completely. We don't modify any existing code or anything like that. We include some custom software tools, though. The Render Garden uses some proprietary hardware to function. We ruined alot of good CPU's :-{ to bring it online. It's…

Hello Steve! Sorry I had to leave early Wed. Still waiting on Elvis to get home . Sat around and reviewed everything we covered in your class, and started thumbing through your book. I must say, the book is FULL off great tips. Thanks for all your help. Well, after…
Gee, I hope you know this guy. That seemed a bit rough.
Personally, I don't see why not. If the engine is in C++, then port it to Visual C++. There, go through the code and make it a native windoze program. NT should handle the rest if I'm not mistaken. There be major differences, but the core of the code should…
We are an animation/multimedia production house. We can press our own CD's. We build our own machines. We Admin our own network. We develop vertical market applications. We have C coders on staff. We use several different flavors/brands of clone motherboards. We use PCI and sometime VLB (eek!). Use highend…
Heck, If you've got the video equipment, why not get a MAX, pull the frame into the buffer, video post it with alpha, then lay it back out? Is this not plausible? What makes this a in-elegant solution? ANY input will be filed away in my cabinet. Thanks… Chris Norman…

Aha!!! Eureka! Yes. I've found the Opti's VERY fishy. I'm getting a dual processor board in with an Intel Chipset. (Soon I hope!!) So… I'll tell you how it goes.
Sorry for the late reply… I don't like QEMM, personally. As a tech., I've come across compatability problems in the past.

EEEEEEEEEKS!!!!! I'm running a Mach32 and It does that as well, though I tend to do a few in the editor and alot in the keyframer. It mainly happens to me in the Mat Editor w/ reflective bitmaps…. Could it be?!?! Say it ain't so Joe!!! Could the Vibrant drivers…
Are you going to broadcast? Chris Norman A.M.Labs
No prob.
Is it absolutly ness. for you to run QEMM? If not, I'd bail on it and fast. If so… Hmmmm. tough one.
Hey!
of course not! I want all my money + 10%!!! Yo! Murph! thought I'd say Hi!
It probably is the 10baseT. Although it is still technically ethernet, it can handle larger files @ higher speeds. Lantastic is a good solution, don't get me wrong. I just feel that a WFW/NTAS solution is superior. It may cost more, but it's worth it. On our network, we have…
unshadow everything. then run it.
I'm sorry I forgot to mention something!!!! You can now buy 10baseT peer-to-peer networking cards that do not require a concentrator. Maybe I've missed the whole point with you mentioning ethernet. These cards are manufactured here in Dallas. I can sell you some if you want . We also are…
I run WFW on 7 DX2-66's runing msdos 6.21. The lan card I use is called a LANSTAR. It's a generic NE2000 compatible (10BT and Ethernet). We use the 10BT side. We use a HP Ethertwist concentrator. Our server is a P60 w/32megs of ram and 2.7G of drive space.…
Did you call the Vibrant BBS? Maybe there is an update there for you. I had the same prob with the Mach64, had to wait. That's what you get for being on the bloody cutting edge, shame on you . Chris
see my reply and tips under Matrox Ultima+ PCI. Don't know if it'll work but it's worth a try, good luck \ Chris
Here is my recomendation. Windows for Workgroups. Period. Hands down. It's the best peer-to-peer solution for the network renderer. Some people say that 3DS runs slower under windows. Maybe. But I run it under WFW, using it's 32bit disk/file access and see up to a 10% jump in performance. I'm still…
Any dropped frames? Tape banding? Noise? How many hours a week do you put on it?
Yes, if you don't BetaCam quality or higher, Right? It's my understanding the PAR is fine for VHS quality, but struggles with something near D1. Is this true? We are looking at the MAX and I think we're about to go that way. Currently, we use a sony BetaCam-SP deck,…
To anyone running a p90. Does your board have an Intel chipset? In configuring 90's with non-Intel Csets, we've found VERY serious compatability problems. Oh, alot of applications my run, but the stuff you can't buy at CompUSA may be a problem . Check your BIOS. Try not shadowing the…

I may have responded to you're outfit prev. If not, how about I go ahead and tell you about myself. I've been working with 3DS for almost 3 yrs. now. I own a minor share in a co. called A.M.Labs. We're in Addison (real close to the airport). Not only…

Hello! Been working with 3DS for almost 3 years now. I will be attending your class at the end of this month, and I look forward to meeting you. Just thought I'd say hello in advance.
I've been working with 3D Studio for almost 3 years now. I own a small portion of an animation company call A.M. Labs (Animation Multimedia Labs). We are "Propeller Heads" in that we are exp. in hardware as well as poduction. (ie. CD Rom mastering [RICOH, MIXED MODE, CDI], Integration,…

I didn't get the orig. message. this is what I do. select vertex all weld vertex [selected] then i go and delete the offending segments. Kind of tedious, but it works. By the way, this will not build new segments.
Good question. Make sure pharlap.386 is the first thing in the [386enh] section. Also, tweek out the pif file. play with it's video memory functions ect. Although I hate to say this, maybe if you ran windows in a different video mode? I've found it help sometimes.

George, 3DS is a package that allows you to create high-end workstation images on a PC. Check out it's bang for the buck. Get the October issue of Digital Video Magazine (previously Desktop Video World). They do a side by side comparison. I think it will help you understand. But…
check out the tutorial. With a little work and some omni lights with small falloffs, you can create very interesting effects. the problem, of course, is if you want to fragments to fall to the ground. You can do that by moving them as a group and cranking up your…
If you haven't read my reply to a previous mail, please do so. You could low level the drive, Unless that's what you're telling spinright to do.
Neil, Find your model of drive and contact the manufacturer. Most of them, primarily Maxtor, will have a low level formater on their tech support bbs. Do this only as a last resort to save the drive!!!! I don't know how old your drive is; but if it's over a…
