#terminus
Message #189826
I know that UU is not new; but people who don't know internet won't know it. Or even where to get the decoder/encoder software. BTW, I didn't re dl Terminus since I removed the old one from my hd. Ron
True enough. It is slow. But at this point, even ignoring my financial issues (house, baby, etc.), it doesn't seem to make sense for now to do anything about it. A side point; for a slow cpu, the Amiga 2000 with the 68000 still does rather well in most things.…
Ben, when I would use the built in help for AP, I found it to be extremely slow. Note that I have an unaccellerated 2000. (v1.73) Ron
#ApAssist
Message #181102
Ben, I have to assume that it isn't the hog that AG seems to be? AG on my 2000 used from within Autopilot … Ron
Sorry, but what is ApAssist? Ron
Bizarre! 🙂 Ron
I went to the post office with a 3.5" disk mailer, the clerk weighted it, put a stamp on, I paid, it went. Grand Central Post Office. Ron
Gp Fax
Message #167758
Mine went out a couple weeks ago. Ron
I'll go into prefs and set density 6 and give it a try. Thanks! Ron
Understood. I only tried it because PCL mode output from GPfax loses most of the detail on my IIP. Ron
We're backwards here. I know I can get gpfax to intercept printer output and fax it. I want a way to get GPfax to print out the fax I've received with as much detail as I can see on my 1084 monitor. The IIP output from GPfax loses most of…

Dale, I tried to print the iff image of a fax using Final Writer 2 and after about 2 meg in Postscript I gave up. Any ideas? Thanks, Ron
#GPFax-Updates
Message #162895
I wish you'd find some way to take the serial number plus credit card number by email, even if it cost me more. And by the way, while I can print from the current version as per your instructions to me, I lose a lot of detail when I print…
I wish Dr Perry would just accept the serial number and a few extra dollars to cover the extra disk needed. Ron
I have 2.341. I guess I'll have to find the floppy from Supra. Is there any way to bypass that by using a credit card by email here on CI$? And justout of curiosity, what are the changes from 2.341 to present? Thanks, and regards back, Ron
It's slow, with just the 68000. I have a very small HD. Limited software. Etc. Ron
#gpfax printing?
Message #157399
Are there upgrades available? And its good to know you can provide support! Thanks, Ron
Dan, there are so many of us out here trying to figure out where we stand as Amiga users, trying to make decisions as to what to do about keeping our systems going, upgrading, replacing, etc. For instance, at some point I'll need my computer at home usable by my…
I didn't know they were IFF, but I finally got it to print. I'm not sure what I did! Ron
I never checked printergfx, just prefs. Hmm. Ron
I tried it again just now and it worked. The print resolution seems somewhat less then on screen, but it is quite readable and took less then 5 minutes for my 2000 and IIP to print it. Why it wouldn't go earlier I don't know. At least now I know…
Exactly what I've done; it just won't print. Ron
I set mine to each, the cartridge the same, and couldn't print. The cartrdige would start and would do a flush. The IIP without the cartridge wouldn't do anything except hang the software. Ron
#gpfax printing?
Message #156261
Does anyone here know how to print a fax with gpfax? I have a Laserjet IIP with a Pac Page cartridge, so I can print with PCL or PS. GPfax doesn't seem to have any control of its printing, and I don't know if it supports either method. HELP! Ron…
Steve, I have an old drive on my scsi bus using a (at type) to scsi adaptor (an Omti). The drive has been unreliable, possibly not set up correctly. Will this utility be of any use in working with it? Note that if the drive is connected to my bus…
What a shame; hope you find something decent soon. And a waste; like others, I now imagine that the end of Commodore and the Amiga (at least anything new) is coming soon. Ron
#Supra 28 accell???
Message #138907
I have a stock 2000, rev 4.1, with the 8088 bb (accellerated with a Sota), and with a megachip 2000. I'd like to put in some sort of low cost accellerator and have considered the Supra 28 (with switch set to not cache the higher mem addresses in deference to…
The hardware was always pretty good, but there were a lot of software issues (apparently including who owned it, if I remember right).
I guess I'm not the only person who still has an Oki 20 (only mine's in a box)! 🙂 Ron
When I went to Ados 2.x, I had lots and lots of trouble. I gave up and went to GVP.
Thanks Gary. If I can't use that drive so be it. I could probably use the casing (it's external) and its power supply for a new drive; almost any size would be an improvement. If I do that, how do I find out how to properly terminate that drive? Beyond…
Dump it. Its not worth the aggravation of dealing with a C Ltd controller. If the drive is a scsi drive put in on some other brand scsi controller. Ron
#hc2+8 upgrade ???
Message #73563
Gary, I just installed the v2 rom for my HC2+8 purchased about 3 years ago for my 2000. I'm wondering if there's anything special I should do other then the chip installation and the software installation. I still have problems if I power up an external drive I have (an…
Understood. I suspect that I'll also have to find not just a different font size but a different font. And its desire to reset everything each time you make an adjustment seems to need a reboot to really work, so these changes are a pain in the but. Thanks, Ron
All cleaned up now. Thanks! Ron
It seems to be gone now. Apparently when I was messing around with s-s to get my system working after the denise upgrade I put in some echo's. The actual problem was that I didn't have any 'monitor files' like NTSC and the startup didn't like that one bit. It…
#reset workbench?
Message #128206
After installing a Super Denise on my 2meg chip ram equipped 2000, I get a requestor for trying to reset the workbench screen. Can anyone tell me what this is and how to deal with it? At this point, the system does appear to be running normally otherwise. I did…
Thanks; any thoughts on how to take advantage of the new chip? I do have 2 meg chip ram but a 1084s monitor. Ron
GPFax
Message #128051
GPFax hangs when I try to print. I have a laserjet 2p with a Pac Data cartridge. I've tried with the cartridge in and out. With or without a postscript driver. I should have 2.1 of Ados. I patched gpfax (generic apparently) with the patch files I dl'd from Supra's…
#install/use Sup Denise?
Message #128033
Can anyone tell me how to install and best use a Super Denise I long ago bought for my 2000? Thanks, Ron
How do I get an upgrade notice for QB? Ny address is now Ron D. Troy 2 Crystal Lane E Northport, NY 11731-5028 (516) 368-4935 h (212) 916-7927 w Thanks, Ron
Thanks. I got a new list of the AV sections and found them. Ron
Thanks. Guess I have to order it. Ron
A pretty decent one in those days. Bill, do you know anything about gvp controller errors? Or is there any diag software here? Thanks, Ron
Andrew, is there still a gpfax archive downloadable? Ron
I didin't know gvp was on vendor. Ron
#gvpscsi error?????
Message #123612
Does anyone know what the following message from a gvp scsi board means? GVPSCSI.DEVICE BOARD 000 IGNORED STATUS $00 /$60? It has started showing up on my 2000 when accessing my bridgeboard makeab partition. Thanks, Ron
Gotcha. Ron
Hmm. In other words, if I have an older rom (what id?) GPfax might not work on my Supra? Thanks, Ron
After all these years on Amiga, I had to get training in memory management to be able to properly use a pc! How disgusting! Ron
