Message #21234
Are you planning any new animation-modeling programs that incorporate cubic patches, similar to Journeyman?
#Map master
Message #26041
Louis, Please leave me some info on surface and map master. I want to purchase both program programs. Shalom
John, Thankou for the info. I will leave a message for Louis. Shalom
#Surface Master
Message #25976
How do I find out more information about surface and map master? Thanks Shalom
John, You seem very enthusiastic about Page renders scripting language for creating difficult 3d models. Can you share with us an example? Is the language difficult to learn for an non-programming type like myself. My only exposure to Pagerender was the brief description in the last Amiga World. Shalom
#conversion utilities
Message #6018
Where can I found a conversion utility to convert IFF to GIF or TIF. I have access to an film recorder on the MAC which only reads MAC files. Thanks , Shalom
Scott, Thanks for the reply. I've just received journeyman, and for the last 72 hours have been going through the tutorials and manual. What a super program!! I think the interface is outstanding. The cubic patch method of modeling appears to be what I have been looking for. In sculpt…

Virus
Message #21578
I've tried virusx version 4.01 but I don't think it checks the hard disk. I think I have a virus because of the unexplained lockups the system has which never oucrred before. I would appreciate any info on where to find a virus checker that looks for virus in the…
Thnaks for the reply. Could you upload the 4.0 version of virusx to lib15. Presently the version is 4.01 but there is no documentatio. The author suggests using 4.0 for a complete reference. If this is not possible, could someone explain how I could use the 4.01 version? Thanks Shalom
Thanks for the quick response. Where can I find the 4.00 (not the 4.01) version of virusX. I need to check for virus in my hard disk as well as floppies. Other advice on virus control would be greatly appreciated. Shalom

Message #15137
I need the 4.0 version of virusX. The version downloaded from lib5 is th 4.01 version and does not have adequate documentation. The accompaning readme note suggests finding the 4.0 version but I haven't succeeded in finding it. If it is not available could you briefly relate how to use…

Message #5755
Help! My system is infected with virus. Where can I get VirusX or similar program to kill the virus? Thanks, Shalom
Scott, Thanks for the reply. I have put in extensive time in learning Imagine and agree it is a major improvement. It would help to see more exapmples given by "experts" ( the folks who have alot of time to play around with these programs) especially in the new areas…
John, Thanks for the info. Since I posted that message I've spoken with Martin. He certainly is enthusiastic about the product and sold me on it. Frankly I've been disappointed with Imagine. I was hoping for some breakthrough especially in the modeling module. I still feel more at home with…
Rick, I'm curious as to what features in sculpt you use that are not found in imagine. I have made a serious effort in the last few weeks to model in imagine but still find myself going back to sculpt. It might be a matter of familiarity ; I would…
Rick, Thanks for the clarification Shalom
Camera tracking
Message #20364
Rick, I am enjoying Imagine, now that version 1.0 is out. Question: When an object is named and saved in the Detail editor, apparently the "axis" retains its original name "axis" (unless it is changed in the attribute requester). Before I realized this, I tried tracking the camera to an…
Rick, Thankds for the advice, but it still needs to be simplified. I think multiple extrudes and rotations are so important to object creation, serious attention should be paid to this feature. I'll give your technique a try. Thanks for being there! Shalom
Rick, Once points are selected with Drag points, can they be rotated and extruded? Shalom
Fees
Message #15937
Rick, I've been commissioned by some lawyers to produce an animation of eye movements in a legal case. Could you give me some tips on how to set fees? You may want to E-Mail your reccommendations. Thanks Shalom

Message #15472
Rick , I've been out of the forum for awhile. What is imagine? I've also succeeded in transporting a complicated image from sculpt into turbo SV and made the most amazing stereo animation. I need help on some of the choices in the camera menu that pertain to stereo viewing…
Exactly which isssue of Amigaworld was that? I guess I missed it.
Mike, I would like to know more too. Let us know about cost. Shalom
I have tried to find some eye models but they are hard to come by. Ohio State apparently has some good ones but they are reluctant to let them go.
Any comments on how you approached the making of a flowr petal? Do you start with an outline and then shape the surface? Or perhaps you extrude the surface first and then mold the outline afterwards? Or are there other approaches? Eager to here your response?
Thanks for your response though I haven't read your other response in the vendor forum. Please share your views on the two approaches to modleing that I tried to outline in my message to John (Syndesis). By the way I am especially impressed with your atristry and objects creating talents…
Thanks for the effort you put into thinking of ways to make a petal. I've been giving this topic alot of thought over the last few days and did alot of digging. The folks at Sculpt and AmigaWorld were terrific in helping me track down the artist who rendered a…
flowers
Message #11997
I am still looking for help in creating a rose or flower petal. Any tips from you artists out there (Louis – HELP!) on what tools to use etc. please would be appreciated.
John, Maybe you can share some of your ideas on how to create the flower. I began by using spin for 90 degrees of a cross section of a flower petal (along its length). The results are interesting but I need some further refinements. Any other ideas would be appreciated.…

Object – Flower
Message #11922
I am in need of an object – a 4 petalled flower for a project. I can be in either sculpt or turbo format. Any suggestions on how to make one (ie which tools and technique) or where to find one? thanks, Shalom
There is a group in Washington,D.C. area known as Lightning Publishers who claimed to have done this conversion 2 years ago. If I can dig up their number I'll post it here.
Another way would be to use the genlock to bring the image into the cell and trace it manually. This can be done in Sculpt but I'm not sure about TSilver. Shalom
Stan, Thanks for checking it out. If you select a face of the iris and click on color in the attributes requester you will get blue. If you then choose the object and click on color you will get white. Now, re-choose a face of the iris and the color…

Message #2465
Thanks for the news re:VD1. I'll call you when it comes. I can't find any sort command on the menus or referenced in the manual. My question about children following parent was in reference to the follow me command. What happens if the parent is grouped correctly to the children…
#Point ordering
Message #2443
Stan,f Once I brought the sculpt image into turbo I found (as you knew) that there was no order to the assignment of the points and usingt the next command was not helpful in choosing faces. Is there some way to reorder the points? Also, can you choose a subgroup…
Color loss
Message #2442
John, Used the interchange program to convert the sculpt head to turbo without a hitch. The 3.0 version read the converted file without a problem. However, I used the smoothing program (I think its called reduced points) that comes with the disk. Apparently it changed the color of all the…
#Follow Me
Message #2440
Stan, I have converted the scult head with interchange and it looks pretty good in Turbo. Question: Will children of a parent in a group follow the parent if you don't check on "Follow Me" in Story? Looking forward to the VD-1 arriving tommorrow. Shalom

Message #2317
Stan, When performing a rotation around the X axis for example, is the positive versus the negative direction defined? Can a negative number be used? If only postive values are accepted, how does Turbo define the rotation – towards the secreen or away from the screen? I finished the animation…

Message #2298
John, Have you made the anatomy object set available yet? I would be interested in using it for both Turbo3.0 and sculpt.

Check into Lights, camera, action by Aegis. They can provide the synch you are looking for with Sonix scores. Shalom
We also have a Targa16 but have not invested in any 3d software. What are you using. I am an avid user of both Sculpt and Turbo but I know the feeling of looking at a gorgeous targa image and wondering why I'm still playing around on the Amiga. One…
John, Ohio State has an extensive data library of anatomical objects. Apparently there is a way of converting them to Sculpt3D format. They are under the lock and key of Professor Csuri . I wrote them a letter asking for acsess to the data but never received a response (…
John, That is great news about the Human Design Disk. Where did the original data come from – Ohio State? Also , any eye balls and skulls on it?
