Betty, You probably know–why is there no Zmodem transfer protocol available here on CompuServe (perhaps because they have "Quick B"?) ..I miss ZModem's file transfer resume feature quite a bit.. Gregory Donner [Internet: 102673.1743@compuserve.com]
Bill, Call me at 1-608-455-1823. I'm interested in the 2000. Thanks, Ralph
>>All they said at the end was gloomy predictions, not what we need now. Yeah, I hated those. We showed 'em though, huh? Sounded as though "he" wanted everyone to jump ship at the end, didn't it? Hopefully the climb is uphill, but onward! J i m m y W…
Got a great idea. Get as much subscriber/address/price info as you can for each magazine, and put it into a text file, and upload it here. People would love it.
>>It might be a way to get rid of that game computer image. It would be easy to shed that image in the US… no one knows what the hell one is anymore! We can start fresh over here.
>>I miss the *banditio* Did he die before his time? There's not much in the way of rumors about C= anymore… this person likely has no more inside info than anyone else. I heard the Bandito is dormant until things start looking better… All they said at the end was…
I have tried that with my computer and on netscape my file seems to be corrupt. How can I download it from Omnipresence?
Peter, I started off with NComm. Forget the research, and persevere with xmodem till you get AP and LHA132.run to unarc it. I know the frustration that you are going through, I've been there. Xmodem is slow but will get you there in the end, even if it takes a…
Peter, I wish I could be of help, but I just cannot answer your question. I don't know why you are having these problems. Others have downloade AP.LHA using various protocols: B, B+, QuickB, YModem, XModem, Kermit – all have worked. I haven't a clue as to why it is…
#CD drivers
Message #217146
Does anyone know where I can find a Toshiba CD-ROM driver and a Phillips CD-ROM driver to download for the PC? I want to use it with my e586. AMIGA—–The Future Is Now! Chris Shepard: 030/50 A2000 with Toaster 4000 & MacIIfx via Emplant.
Michael,
Don, Yup, that was the problem all right. I also found the jumper for the floppy drive—-it's 301, not 103. (Just for someone else's reference.) Things are working beautifully now; thanks. AMIGA—–The Future Is Now! Chris Shepard: 030/50 A2000 with Toaster 4000 & MacIIfx via Emplant.
I think I know why. I read in the latest Video Toaster mag that the only "authorized" release of 3.1 was for the 4000. All of the other 3.1 chips are "unauthorized" releases, so maybe this is why EA did nothing to support 3.1. NewTek also say the same thing…
You'd been more specific 🙂 . But then, a pretty common problem is that you should set your serial prefs in Term to 8-N-1 even if you heard that CIS uses 7-E-1. To prevent garbage from CIS set "Strip high bit" as well. HTH, Joachim Sondermann-Bieker on Amiga AutoPilot 1.80…

>>does PP buffer the image as 24 bit, or only 256 color? I know Photogenics I was wondering that myself.. I'll check it out. (hours later..) Ok, it seems that 24bit support is its achilles heel, whilst it loads 24 bit images happily it reduces them to 256 colours (And…
>>DARN!! I knew I'd run into problems not having a CD-ROM drive!! Oop! should have read: comes on CD ROM as well as floppy.. the floppy version doesn't have all the extra stuff though… Come on Asha it's dirt cheap, get yerself one! ..I checked out stencil support, as long…

FWIW, it has to be damn close – or the national grid wouldn't work. As I recall there is a sort of "genlock" they use to allow multiple generating stations to feed the grid. The consequences of a little bit of phase error are quite frightening. Steve Brightman Daring to…
Asha, If you read the editorial, you'll see why no date, nor an Issue 3 – August either. I'm not sure when my present sub will end since they are skipping issues, but like you I'm waiting for some regularity before I renew. I guess I wasn't the only one…
Thanks for your interest in our products! MegaBall4 is indeed neat! We had the launch party yesterday. Besides the authors and their friends (and friends of IAM) we had a half dozen kids over to play the game. We some times had to tell the adults to let the kids…
Thanks for your prompt reply What is even more interesting to me is that if I boot the computer with the DPaintIV disk in DF0 . . . everything works fine (although I have already run into some "out of memory" messages while trying to put together even fairly simple…
Asha, I had not "seen" him here in a while, was wondering if he kept his account here active after moving west. On GEnie he even has his own "section", an area where people can post questions to him in an open forum. Seems like someone _always_ come up w/…

I have a Amiga 500 I got second hand. For some of the files in the library I need a more recent operating system release (2.04) What is the most recent release and where can I get it? Perry
Well now I'm getting kind of scared off! (this is also a $50 deal, and I was under the impression that they were SUPPORTING the Picasso- you think they would for $50, wouldn't ya?) I had a big crash recently and not having a backup, didn't remember which Pic driver…
> .What version of the Cyber sw were you using? Are you using WB3.1 or 2.x? < Mike, I started with the old version 40.47, then upgraded to 40.49. Then they changed the version numbering system, and I upgraded to 2.0. I had a lot of problems running a 24…
> Do you know what the problem between the Picasso and Brilliance is. Since I have installed the card Brilliance wont run in any mode. thanks, < I can't remember off hand, since I don't use Brillance any longer. I *think* I remember something about the monitor driver for the…
> How do I tell what kind of chip it is? < Jack, you'll have to take your 3000 apart, down to where you can see the motherboard. If you've never done it before, it's an experience. 🙂 Anyway, find the SCSI chip, if it's the proto chip, it should…
AutoPilot is in AmigaVendor Forum, Library 9, and is called AP.LHA. There are also some documentation files for it – APDOCS in several formats – WP for importing into Word Perfect; ASC for a simple ascii file; LHA for a file that unpacks to print out a fully formatted manual…
Volker, AutoPilot may be starting the downloads over again – but B+ protocols are quite capable of re-starting. If you want to re-start a download, have you tried it in HandsOn? And AutoPilot definitely uses BPlus protocols as default. —Betty

Peter, I do wish I could help – but I'm at a loss. I don't use Termite (Nor NCOMM), and know nothing of the way it works. I can tell you how to make things work with AutoPilot, which I use, but not with term programs that I don't know.…
Peter, Forgive me, but I don't quite understand the reason for this research you are doing, and I don't know of anything that could be missing. I can tell you now, though, that for CompuServe, the best protocol to use it BPlus. It is fast, accurate, and allows for re-starting…

Joe, connect to www.omnipresence.com . There you can download AMosaic2.0prerelease3.lha. Very important: After unarcing, change the program's stack to 35000. Hope this helps. Syiad T. Al-Duri from Bad Nauheim, Germany Surfin' on AutoPilot 1.80
David, I have 2 ASDG "EB920" Ethernet cards, and use them in A3000s (also connected to PCs with Win3.11 and WinNT). They came with SANA-2 drivers and work fine with AmiTCP (after some valuable help from Dale Larson 8^). However, I recently tried one of them in an A4000 and…
Keith, I've got AmiTCP4 on two amigas linked to two PCs (one WinNT, the other Win3.11). I just use the TCP/IP and FTP client/server that's part of WinNT, and the free Microsoft TCP/IP and FTP client add-on for Win3.11. If you can't get it working, then the Hosts file is…
Thanks, got your message. Any help in finding an '030/40 or 50Mhz board would be appreciated. Thanks. David.
Joachim, Thanks for the info! ANy info is welcome right now. However what I, personally, dislike very much was this: >>But then, Microsoft, in his opinion, was targetted more for office, Amiga rather for home market.
GVP series II HD help?
Message #217108
Hi all, I`m hoping for some help with my GVP hard disk power supply that has gone dead. I don`t have the circuit diagrams to check it out but the voltage seems to go missing near the imput rather than further on into the circuit. Does anyone know if this…
MB4 sounds neat! Can you describe Ami-FileSafe? I have no idea what it is. And does it come with all sold packages, or only when one buys direct from IAM? — Tom
Robert, Sorry, CrossDOS 6.0 has been sold. John
Wolfgang, I wonder, if one of the sysops can solve the mysteries of german DatexJ Do you want to access CompuServe via DatexJ with a terminal program? If yes, which program do you have in mind? With AutoPilot this is possible, I have done it myself some time ago. But…
#Mosaic2.0?
Message #217103
I have heard of Mosaic 2.0 on the WWW. Where can I get this up-grade? I have tried downloading but the files seem to be corrupt., Dose any one have it and were can I get it?
Chris.. You could always try getting XPRQUICKB.LIBRARY or XPRBPLUS.LIBRARY, which works fine with Terminus, but i've never used TERM so i don't know if you can use external protocols.. You'll have to read the term doc's on how to set them up for use etc etc. Anthony

Contact CompuServe Germany via GO FEEDBACK.
Since I don't know what specifically what you are doing I don't know why you can't get it to work. Suffice it to say, tho, that if you have the XPR B+ or QB library, and you've selected one of those libraries for use with Term, it works fine.
Asha, Thanks very much, Ive followed your instructions and my amiga is now dearchiving like a dream. Many thanks, John
