Bob, I don't believe the 8520's are surface mounted…but I certainly could be wrong. Don

I don't need my PCMCIA slot anyway because I already have 4MB installed. Is it worth waiting for the next upgrade since a lot of changes are being made now with the Amiga computers? I also want to add to my hard drive memory. I have 80MB. But now it…

Bob, >Not A DOS Disk Usually this error message appears, when the Amiga cannot read the boot sectors of the disk or these sectors has the wrong contents in it. If the computer could read this disk before, it is now corrupted. You may then try a program like "DiskSalv".…
#Not a DOS Disk

I get a message saying "Not A DOS Disk" when I try to access the floppy drive on a A1200. It could be that a "mount" command, or a file was wiped out. Can anyone help? Bob Campbell Clover, SC
The 040 would need a bit of help to run 1.3, I am sure there was a degrader that allowed 1.3 to run with an 040, the name escapes me though. Phill
Phill ABasiC was not been updated, but was replaced with AmigaBasic. For a while I used 2.1 and 1.3 with a ROM switcher with my 2500. Unfortuantly when I upgraded the 2500 with a GVP '040 1.3 stopped working. GVP said 1.3 is incompatable with 1.3. Worse, ABasiC is so…
I wonder why it don't work with 2.0, maybe it has been fixed, or you could try booting up with kickstart 1.3 Phill

What is the last Workbench-1.3… is it 1.3.34.28 or is a later one than that around somewhere. I cannot upgrade to 2.0 due to original motherboard (or so I'm told). thanks.

A startup problem has surfaced on my A-2000 (German Motherboard and using WB-1.3.34.20 or 28). Following the HD Startup-Sequence line resident CLI L:Shell-Seg SYSTEM pure add; activate Shell (correction AT this line, not following) the display becomes: *(%(*%*%) resident failed return code 20 >1 can anyone give me a hint…
greetings… thanks for the info on getting El Cheapo FAX software to work. Will look it over and see what works. thanks again….. cwm
greetings…. very unusual name… Asha. Where did it come from? … thanks for the hint on getting the FAX software going. Still working on it.
Wayne, go in and edit the default tooltype of the particular file that demands MultiView. Since MultiView is default with the 3.1 OS, you are a bit stuck, but with a bit of cadging around, you can do a workaround. However, you need to know exactly what type of file…
Wayne,
Apparently the English manuals aren't very good. They are not complete, but you can't expect better since VillageTronic only made AmigaDOS 3.1 available to us as sort of a favor… Everyone wanted it and so they started making it. But despite their high price, I don't think they really ever…

greetings…. I'm working on getting ElCheapo Fax going and it wants MulitView. I found it in the doc's , but I do not see a copy of it in my 2.1 disks. What's the story? thanks cwm
Ian, I agree. The 3.1 manual in German is – so to say – a regular one. There are three booklets (DOS, Workbench and AREXX) which are all in all identical to the 2.04/2.1 manuals with only the additions and changes for 3.1. I don't know what you get in…
I have to defend the 3.1 manual a little – it is "bad" because C= never wrote one. It is translated from German I believe. Something is better than nothing. At least they tried to make an English manual for us. VT made it themselves, they had only the software,…

I'll agree iwth buying the 3.1 rom and disks but the manuals are not worth it. Keep your 2.04 manual it's much better. The 3.1 manual doesn't explain anything. It's terrible really sad. I bought 3.1 when it first came out. It was worth the 175 dollars.

Thanks Hank….I'll give it a try.
Michael, You're correct…you've got to create a mountlist for the Syquest specifying which filesystem, size of the disk, driver, etc. Look in your Amiga and/or CrossDOS documentation, it should give you several samples. Don

PP&S 040 library?
Message #197416
I've got a PP&S 040 for my A3000. I need the latest 68040.library for it. Can anyone direct me to where I might find it? Is it here in the libs hidden somewhere? Thanks much since my Ami isn't working properly. I suspect the library file might have something to…
Badly written software will not. Mainly games. But newer AGA games are much better, I suppose. And 500s cannot run AGA games!. You can always use degraders and thinks like that! Hope this helps Rafa from Berlin, thanks to AP1.80 >…olive oil is the way to go.
Martin, Thank's for the answers. I do have quite a few upgrades on my 500. I.E. 28MHZ accelerator, 4.5 MEGS mem., DOS 2.1. I just wasn't sure if i could use all of my programs on a new A4000 or not. Thank's again.:>) If Escom does restart the A4000, Then…
Stephen, Yes…and no, but mostly yes. An apt anaolgy might be comparing a Chevette and a Corvette. Both are made by Chevrolet. Both have four wheels and use gasoline. Both can get you from point A to point B. You could gut the interior of the Chevette and install leather…

boy what a mess for the user friendly Amiga. So maybe I should remove the GVP 030, reinstall the rom 3.1 then reinstall the gvp030? OH BOY maybe I'll reinstall 2.1 at least everything worked!!! R.Krupka
yes, I also have a GVP 030 installed!
Hmmm. If your GVP was working with 2.0, it should be OK with 3.1. You must have a bad ROM. dale@iam.com http://www.iam.com Intangible Assets Manufacturing
Disabling it via software? There are jumpers that have to be set to actually can the accelerator. Mr. Zombie
Thank you for your help anyways. I just returned the 3.1 ROM to my dealer, will get a new one soon. There seem to be a lot of things about GVP boards – reading the AmigaVend Forum – I tried to disable my accelerator but it would not work either.…
