Tim, It sure beats $3000 for 3D Studio! Michael
>> I'll let you know about the new features if you want.
Tim, The creases and folds can probably be removed by a dexterous use of Amplitude, Gamma, and Magnitude. With a little practice, you can start to get a pretty good feel for the types os settings to use. The drawback for me is that the click-on-the-radar-botton-drag-across-the-screen approach is not accurate…
Thanks for the answers. I'll get back to you later. Russ Spencer
Michael, Thanks for your reply.:-) I too find AM's splines an indispensable tool. In fact, of the many spline based packages I've tried or seen, for my money AM is the *best*. It's highly freeform approach comes closer to the flexibility in polygonal modeling than any other package I've seen.…
Tim, I am an AM user and I do the type of modeling that you would normally expect to be done with polys; spacecraft, architecture, that sort of thing, and have found that modeling is still easier with splines than polys. At first, before I really decided that I was…

#Why Imagine?
Message #4185
Charles, Imagine is not the only program I use in my production work, it is simply the principal program I use for animation and rendering. I use Animation Master, some of LW's object processing features, and image processors as well. The fact that I augment much of my work in…
>>What about compatibility or convertibility with Animation Master on the PC?
>>If Imagine updates to support the Flyer I'll take a serious look at it.
Yes, if you get the message like I did of a 387 needed then you do need to install a math co-processor. Joe Bracco
I have also had a lot ,Lot of trouble trying to get Imagine 2.0 working. It took me a while to iron out the bugs with my memory, let me know if i can help. Joe Bracco
Hey Tim, Here's another one that should be elsewhere. What about compatibilty or convertability with Animation Master on the PC? Russ Spencer / Michael Miloff & Associates
I answers 'em where I finds 'em. But thanks for the re-direction. If Imagine updates to support the Flyer I'll take a serious look at it. Russ Spencer / Michael Miloff & Associates
Win 32 is the 32bit API (application programming interface) used by the MS 32bit operating systems (NT, 95). Win32s is an API which allows WIN32 applications to make 32bit calls to Windows 3.1. It adds whats called a "thunking" layer between the 32bit app and the 16 OS. This allows…
Charles, We would prefer that Imagine point out to its members where they would appreciate technical or artistic support questions to be handled. Matt Drury Sysop
>> It's not supported as well as it is here either. My advise is to stay here…
Howdy Blaq! The Impulse section in AmigaVendors is not as active as this area or the Imagine UG section in GUGRPA. Although Impulse checks into AmigaVen, they check in here more frequently. So, if you need something answered in a more timely manner, your best bet is to post a…
Blacky, The AmigaVend forum has about 1 message a week in it and will take the members from here. It's not supported as well as it is here either. My advise is to stay here… Bruce Herzog Forum Staff NY 11-Feb-95 at 3:00p EST
Just found out that Imagine accepted the FLC when made with VFD, but not the one from DTA. -David
#3 IM Forums, you know
Message #4138
Hey, PC Imagine users! You may want to know about yet another source of Imagine information, the original source as a matter of fact. GO AmigaVend has an Impulse section, where Imagine owners also discuss our favorite 3-D program. Browsing all 3 Forums where Imagine information can be found (GUGrpA,…
Damn :-\ Who's is the other account? -David
David, Mike will be away until Tuesday. Just letting you know in case you don't get a reply. I don't know what that means either. -GreG
>> Has anyone heard anything new about the next upgrade release of Imagine. William, Imagine 3.2 is undergoing the last legs of beta testing over the weekend. As to actual shipment, I don't know. >> …motion blur starfields…I know I can do it with Photoshop, but that means doing each…

What does it mean if I get the error message "unfinished FLC" when using a flc as map? It plays find with all players I have. -David
Next Imagine ?
Message #4081
Has anyone heard anything new about the next upgrade release of Imagine. I was also wondering if any one has come up with an easy way to motion blur starfields like the ones done for Star Wars when the the camera pans around quickly. I know I can do it…
Rob, Contact Impulse at 800-328-0184. There is an upgrade path to Imagine 3.0 for you. -GreG P.S. Imagine flies on a Pentium
GreG, Yep, I ordered LT today. I'll have to add GUGRPA to my "places" button. Thanks, Todd

#TurboSilver upgrade path
Message #4044
Hi. I'm an old Amiga TS user. Now that I have a Pentium on my desk I'd like to experiment with 3D again. Is there an upgrade path available to me ? I'm looking for an entry-level start, but thought I'd investigate here. Thanks Rob Strause
>> Your flc is perfect. I'm psyched. Thanks a lot. Dan, Thanks, glad I came close to portraying what you depicted. >> How long did you spend on that, start of modeling to completed flc? Oye….couldn't tell ya. I modelled it very quickly in order to try out the IK…maybe…
Your flc is perfect. I'm psyched. Thanks a lot. How long did you spend on that, start of modeling to completed flc? Also, you mention the revision you're working with. Can 2.0 do that, 3.0, or would I need the continuous upgrade version? I'd probably get it anyway…
Dan, To answer your question, yes. Check in your email to see the mechanism you depicted in ascii, animated. -GreG
Tim, your reply to Michael Miloff piqued my curiosity. I'm a longtime Imagine user, with decent knowledge about other software (including Lightwave), but whose knowledge primarily comes from reading magazines. This means I'm vulnerable to hype and the "let's sweep those faults under the rug" attitude which may prevent me…
The concept of the mechanical is quite simple, maybe I can ascii it here. small action | here pivot point pivot point \|/ fixed to plane floating ———————————————- | * * * * | | * * * * | ———————————————- | | this | | The motions are all…
Todd, LT is your best bet. Once you decide you need more, you can always upgrade. make sure to stop by GUGRPA with any questions once you get LT. -GreG
GreG, Thanks for the info. For now I guess I'll get the LT version and then see what the options are. Until I actually play around with it I won't know if I need more than the LT or not. Todd (not imagine literate yet)
Todd, You can upgrade from LT to 3.0, or 4.0 depending which is the current version when you decide to upgrade. Mike could tell you the cost. The CD that LT comes on has a lot of stuff on it that does not come with 3.0, so you may be…
#Imagine L/T vs. 3.0
Message #3976
Mike, The ad for the L/T version was pretty tempting. Now I have a book coupon for 3.0 at $300 and an ad for the L/T for $99 or so. Choices choices. If I get the L/T and want to upgrade, do I send back the L/T for a refund…
>> Hey GreG. We've missed you over in Graphdev. Howdy Dan, I miss not having the Imagine UG section there also. I do read all the threads there, so I keep up to date on the forum news/business/ramblings etc. >> What can you tell me about Imagine's IK? Can I…
#Imagine's IK
Message #3967
Hey GreG. We've missed you over in Graphdev. What can you tell me about Imagine's IK? Can I use it to build a working machine linkage? I have a project in mind, with a fairly nasty combination of levers and pivots, some fixed to a base, some floating attached to…
michael We have removed the Inverse Kinnematics as well as the Cycle Editor from Imagine, also the states function has been removed. Other wise the code is the same. Imagine runs just fine on the P90 (IMAGINE L/T) I think you will find no problems. Mike
Dave Munich, Kronberg its all German to me, Sorry for putting my foot firmly in my mouth and you are correct, thanks for the correction, good to know you are reading all this information. Mike

Tim, As you know we are interested in your product on CD-ROM. We are using LightWave 3D on the AMIGA and soon on the PC. Are your models completely usable in LightWave? Thanks, Russ Spencer / Michael Miloff & Assoc.
