Well, the best sources I can think of are dealers, Dave Haynie and people who were dealers like Mark Manes or CBM engineers like Dale Larson. I wouldn't mind seeing a run down either. BTW, I believe that I saw reports of problems on earley 6.x rev MBs that were…

Ash, On many printers, having a voltage on pin 14 will make the printer double space text. What 'autofeed' means is 'add a carriage feed after every line feed'. A line feed advances the tractor one space, a carriage return moves the print head to the left margin. Typically, you…

Wayne, You will need to check the installation instructions for those products. I don't know a thing about them. If you have one of those boards and the installation instructions don't tell you to change any jumpers on the motherboard, then don't.

I picked up a Tandy Parallel port extension kit today. I'm using with a 4000/40 and GVP IOExtender, set up as an IBM parallel port. It really works. But the best part is this: Time to print a fax normal cable 18 min Time to print same fax with kit…

Sorry for juming in but along the same lines, is there anywhere that you can find out what is involved with each motherboard revision? I am trying to sell my A2000 (W/ a rev 4.4 board) and that seems to be turning people away. Is there a flaw with the…

Yes, but he needed to know if it worked in 3000 towers. I'm not familiar with the daughterboard in 4000, so I didn't know if it was the same board as the A3640, which I know does work in the 3000s.

DJ, The only place in HDToolBox I could find a path to a file system is buried deep in the file system maintenance section. When I select the `Add/Update…' from the partitioning section, the file system maintenance window opens and I have absolutely nothing listed in the identifier list. This…

Don, Is this the A3640 daughtercard? If so, it doesn't take a great deal. You need to change two jumpers, install the card, get the 68040.library file and the latest SetPatch. The jumpers are J100 and J104, I believe. J100 is a three pin jumper normally on pins 2-3, and…

Dave, After sending out far too many replacement Sync Strainers, I finally got smart and started working the power pin angle right away. It's surprising how many power pins no longer make power out these. Actually my own A2000 has the -5volt pin dead right now, but I don't use…

Dave, Check your power pins on the DG-23 video port connector. Pins 21,22,and 23 should be -5, +12, and +5 volts respectively. I can't understand why the Amiga engineers would put unfused power PINS on a connecter like that. Just beggin' for trouble. Should you find that you've popped one…

DJ, Interesting that your install put FastFileSystem in your l: directory. I am very certain my install did not because I installed to a brand new hard disk and it's not there. Since the l:FastFileSystem version is identical to that in the ROM (Kickstart 40.68), I see no advantage to…

Norm, You're really making this difficult aren't you ? FastFileSystem is embedded in your kickstart ROMs! You don't need it in your l: directory and the OS3.1 install doesn't put one there (at least on my install). You do not want to `Add/Update…' but rather `Change…' your file system. On…
