From: David Hofmann Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse September 30, 1993 2:49 PM
> Amiga Gang Tape Well, as you know I just bought Imagine a few weeks ago, so the animations I made so far are not exactly perfect I have uploaded three animations to the graphic developers forum Sec 14, but they are more first results than really what I want…

#attribute morphing Message #64136
From: David Hofmann Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse September 11, 1993 3:54 PM
Hi, In my animation I have a road morphing into the letter S. I used a texture (what is called brush in Imagine) that I made in a paint program on top of it that gives the road look. Now I found that the road brush is not morphed. It…
#64036 rotating the camera Message #64080
From: David Hofmann Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse September 10, 1993 3:58 PM
Tony, I canged the movement a little. I make the final movement not with the camera any more, but with the logo. I finished the first part of the animation quite ok now. -David
From: David Hofmann Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse September 8, 1993 4:48 PM
Hi Mike, It might be late (hope not too late). I have a suggestion for the PC version of Imagine 3. Could you at Impulse please make it an option to write .TGA files either compressed or uncopressed. Uncompressed 24 bit files can be huge! I haven't found any program…

Blaq, Yes, moving the path points have a big effect on the camera orinetation, but it seems to be unforeseeable how. -David
#63836 #rotating the camera Message #63904
From: David Hofmann Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse September 8, 1993 4:48 PM
Tony, I think I rebuild the whole sceene from scratch again, with the right orientation this time. Since I have all Objects and pathes saved I just have to load them and place them new. Maybe that cures the problem, but I think of other situations, where you have to…
#63666 #rotating the camera Message #63797
From: David Hofmann Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse September 7, 1993 1:29 PM
Tony, thanks very much for you help. You guessed right. The camera is following a path as well as the TRACK object does. I tried to use the 'final y rotation' and it worked ok for the final position, but it seems that this value comes into effect very late.…
#63655 #rotating the camera Message #63796
From: David Hofmann Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse September 7, 1993 1:28 PM
Peter, what axis do I have to turn (by transform -> rotate -> axis only)? The track the small axis of the path? Hm I guess the track axis. I don't have time to try it now (have to work and earn some money), but I'll try as soon as…
#63665 #position the camera Message #63795
From: David Hofmann Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse September 7, 1993 1:28 PM
Hi Tony, thanks for you reply. I think now I understand how to place object and how to move them between key frames (although I have to say that it could be done easier like other programs show). Also that you always have to make a path in order to…
#63660 #position the camera Message #63794
From: David Hofmann Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse September 7, 1993 1:28 PM
Thanks Blaq, I think now I understand how to use position or alignment bar. Placing and moving object (also along several pathes) is no problem any more. I just needed one more day trying different things to understand how stage and action editor work together (or not ). The only…

From: David Hofmann Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse September 7, 1993 1:28 PM
Maybe you are right. OTOH I have to make my own experiences with the attributes (and of course other things). If I could just go into a store and get it there I would buy it, but I don't want to spend $20 extra for shipping to Germany. -David

From: David Hofmann Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse September 7, 1993 1:28 PM
Thanks Peter, I managed to center the axis of an object by calculating the center. I just thought Imagine has something like 'center axis'. At least my super low cost animation software has it 🙂 -David
#63658 non-linear movements Message #63787
From: David Hofmann Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse September 7, 1993 1:28 PM
Charles, do you have a beta copy of 3.0? Anyway this spline curve to control any movement/rotation sounds very useful. Let's hope it will be possible to save these curves to disk in order to use exactly the same for different object and movements (like the rolling wheel). Movement is…

From: David Hofmann Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse September 5, 1993 3:57 AM
I know what you mean. Let the object do several cycles while following the path. BTW I have another problem. I have a wheel, that I want to roll along a road. I made it follow a path with acceleration. Now I want to make the wheel _roll_. The problem…

Hi Debbie, Try GWS for Windows or DOS. It converts almost every bit mapped file to .TIF format which work with the PC version. The only thing you have to do is tell GWS to write the .TIF files uncompressed. GWS (Graphic WorkShop) is shareware and you can find it…

This global map is really nice to avoid raytracing. I tried it and it looks quite ok. Just have to do a little fine tuning. What is "Louis Markoya's Surface CHROME"? I used the chrome attribute that came with Imagine. -David

From: David Hofmann Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse September 2, 1993 10:48 AM
Peter, what I mean is you can set key frames and Imagine calculates the inbetweens resulting in a linear movement from key frame 1 to key frame 2. I haven't found any way to make an acceleration. The guy from the animation company said there is a tool on the…

I just called Amiga Oberland. He couldn't give me any specific price for Imagine 3.0. He estimated 600-800 DM (which is $360-$480). The price you told me ($695) would be 1140 DM! This would be the very first time that a program that comes from the States is more expensive…
