>> When you decompress *.lha files, you will have problems with file path names. The Amiga uses / to seperate path names instead of the \ of MS-DOS.

Bernie, No program is ever perfect. Imagine does need reworking in several areas…I'd be the first to admit that. Changes are coming. Again, critiques and suggestions for improvement are helpfull to all. Knowing now that you were aware of the current implementation of the points I addressed, your message is…

>> Is there a program in one of the libs that would be a good demo of what Imagine produces? I would like to download and view something that would let me have a better understanding of what all is being discussed here.

Bernie, Having now seen your original opening to your message, it becomes much clearer as to what you wanted to accomplish in your message. It also gave me some feel for how long you've been using Imagine, which before I did not know. Like I said….most of your observations I…

Bernie, I like some of your ideas…I've had them as well. There are some things that you mention that can already be done. >> 6-Speaking of textures, how about a little box, something like the color swatch box, in each and every texture requester that would show you what the…

Imagine 3.0 parses the "/" and the "\" so that objects created on the Amiga can be used on the PC, and vice versa. The only problem comes from objects and image maps that have filenames longer than the MSDOS 8.3 character limit.

>> Also, Imagine doesn't seem to support backround image imports, which would be a MAJOR drag.

>> One other thing I really miss is the possiblity to change the screen resolution. working in 640×480 is not ideal for 3D. Even if it was slower I would prefer to have 800×600 or even 1024×768.

Tony, I will not comment on the other vendor's software. The best way for you to decide on which is best, is to test drive the three. It seems you have done so with Imagine 2.0, and TrueSpace. You need to take a look at Playmation or Animation Master to…
#88613 Mimic Fishhook Lens Message #88693
From: GreG tsadilas Amiga Vendor Forum · NewTek August 24, 1994 6:59 PM
I'm not familiar with LW, but I just made a fish-eye lense in Imagine 3.0…the effect is wicked! If you have control over the FOV (Field of View) in LW you should be able to accomplish it.

Edgar, Imagine 3.0 can do this. Read up in the manual about the "Velocity Scaling" functions. These will allow an object to ease in – or ease out of any type of movement. -GreG
