Frank, Thanks for clearing this MPC stuff up for me. But, I still don't understand one thing. If a particular program is available in both a DOS and a Windows MPC version, why is the Windows MPC version always more elaborate with more animations and sounds? -Dwight
Frank, Who do you think comprised the MultiMedia Marketing Council? Also, there certainly are differences (enhancements) in the MPC version over the DOS version i.e. animations of the solar system, weather and the human body. Why aren't these found in the DOS version if it is truly MultiMedia? -Dwight

No. I am not talking about your MSCDEX, I am talking about your CDROM drive device driver i.e SONY_CDU.SYS, or whatever drive you have, which is loaded in your config.sys. -Dwight-
Steve, I had the same problem which was solved when I upgraded my CDROM extensions to the current version. I bet you have version 2.1. Upgrade to 2.2 and your problem will be solved. -Dwight-
There are different versions of Comptons. You have the Family Encyclopedia which does not run under MME. Comptons Multimedia Encyclopedia on the other hand, requires the MME and gives you the sounds. Unfortunately someone else beat you to it. It's a steal at $50! The Thunderboard is a Soundblaster/Adlib clone- supposed to be 100% compatible. I haven't found a program that it doesn't work with. It lists for about $125. but it's usually advertised for around $95. —-Dwight

Ed, I have the disk and also had a mouse problem when I first installed it. The mouse must be 100% Microsoft compatible or it will not work. Also, make sure you have the latest Microsoft mouse driver ver 8.0 or 8.1. —-Dwight

I'm sure this has been answered before but I am relatively new to the forum. Will "Mammals" run properly on the DAK (CDU 6201) unit? The audio is screwed up- I am getting different animal sounds out of each speaker. Is there a fix for this?
