Vic – I was at a CompUSA here in Atlanta a week or so ago and they had the 3.5" 105s instock, but they were IDE. I was a bit disappointed at that until I saw a spec sheet online that said they made a SCSI version. I don't remember…
#28180 #VP3.0BugFixes Message #28198
From: Harry Callesis Amiga Arts Forum · Audio/MIDI March 27, 1993 4:43 PM
Clint – There is a PD(shareware?) library called "xspecs.library" that has a whole slew of functions in it for using X-Specs. It should be on here somewhere, or if you have access to Portal (since they don't purge their files) it should be there. I'd upload mine, but there were…
#93248 Amiga 4000/030 Message #93347
From: Harry Callesis Amiga User Forum · Hot News and Rumors March 27, 1993 4:43 PM
Steve – KS mapping makes a difference on my A2000 as well 8^) but I was thinking that since the new ROMs have 32-bit access (it's a full 32-bit bus, right?) KS mapping would make less of a difference there. I guess I'll wait a couple weeks more to see…

From: Harry Callesis Amiga User Forum · Hot News and Rumors March 26, 1993 6:02 PM
Steve – My local dealer said he should have what he called an A2400 in stock in the next week or two. The specs he gave match the press release I saw on Portal last night for the A4000/30 (25MHz, 4M RAM, 120M HD, etc.) My main question (I've seen…
From: Harry Callesis Amiga User Forum · New Uploads March 21, 1993 12:55 AM
Michael – I just checked it out, and as I told Chris in EMail it looks like a disassembled and improved pirate version. There's no notice of it being a registered version, the text has probably been changed – I don't see anything that looks like an "opening screen", just…
From: Harry Callesis Amiga User Forum · New Uploads March 19, 1993 4:18 PM
Michael – I have a GUI version 1.14 (besides the gadget interface it's supposed to be faster) that I found on a local BBS. I'm not sure if it's legit or not. If you like, I can upload it and you can decide. Harry
From: Harry Callesis Amiga User Forum · Communications March 6, 1993 6:36 PM
Bill – The main thing to remember when printing to fax is, _don't_ select GPFax.driver in the printer setup of whatever program you're using. Instead, have GPFax running, start your WP, go to printer select and choose "preferences printer", using whatever name the program calls it. Most Amiga WP programs…

Steve – Well, they _do_ have a casino 8^). I can very well imagine a person "losing it all" and no longer being able to pay for his/her "room" or passage off the station. Harry
From: Harry Callesis Amiga User Forum · Communications January 19, 1993 5:10 PM
Sean – Check your User-Startup (or Startup-Sequence under 1.3) and make sure GPFAX: is assigned. It should indicate the directory that GPFax is installed in. Also, check your setup/pathnames and make sure they're what you want. If these don't work, I'm not sure what the problem is. Harry
#84447 Do posts get edited? Message #84571
From: Harry Callesis Amiga User Forum · Forum Business/Help January 10, 1993 11:35 AM
Thomas – What's probably happening is CIS is reformatting the quoted part, making it all run together. To avoid this, put a . or a space in front of the > in each line – this has the same effect as a "post unformatted" except on a line-by-line basis. The…
#84004 GPFax software Message #84032

Bill – Gee, I hadn't thought of that. 'Course, I never think of the obvious things 8^). But, they _are_ in Australia so the phone call could get kinda pricey. I think I'll mention that to the guy I've been Internetting with (I have to write him back anyway). Harry

Gracia – I'm selling the Supra because I finally got the USR Dual Standard/Fax that I'd ordered back before the hurricane. I originally got the Supra because it had the speed for a good price (the fax was an extra I didn't use before I had to start shipping off…
#83759 #PGS and old FReq Message #83807
From: Harry Callesis Amiga User Forum · Word Processing/DTP January 4, 1993 11:38 AM
Richard – If I remember right, you had to edit the PgS executable and change the name of asl.library to something like asx.library. That makes PgS unable to load the 2.x requester and it defaults to the 1.3 (or its own, I forget exactly) file requester. Harry
#83742 #GPFax software Message #83805
From: Harry Callesis Amiga User Forum · Communications January 4, 1993 11:38 AM
Gracia – I just sent in the Supra card – the GPFax "card" is still in the manual. Since I have the generic version, and am selling the Supra anyway, I might just go ahead and send the GPFax registration in so I get notified of new versions (like the…
#31196 M2S, Inc's Modula-2 Message #31197
From: Harry Callesis Amiga Tech Forum · General Programming January 3, 1993 3:11 PM
Jeff – M2Sprint was bought and squashed by Benchmark, who then proceeded to do absolutely nothing with either M2SPrint or their own M2 compiler. A year ago (about) they had a special "sale" on their libraries and the like (my opinion is they were dumping stock) and have since been…

From: Harry Callesis Amiga User Forum · Communications January 3, 1993 3:10 PM
Gracia – Basically, if the Supra-version patch works, you've got the Supra version; if the generic patch works, you've got the generic version. I tried asking both Supra and GPSoft if there was a way to tell what version I had, as at one point no patches worked – I…

Nick – Technically, not yet. GPFax is working on a new version that is supposed to work with it, but it's still in Beta at this point. I believe the AFax program (the demo's here in the libraries) will also work, but since I don't have a fax machine to…

From: Harry Callesis Amiga User Forum · Hot News and Rumors December 31, 1992 12:51 PM
David – You mention using a 1080 with your 1200. Which of the video modes are usable with that monitor (or with a 1084) and which would require a multisynch? Would it be simple to hook a multisynch to the 1200 or would I need to call Redmond Cable? Thanks…

Patrick – There are 3 patches in the GPFax patch file that is here in one of the Amiga fora. The ne from MODEMVEN only patches the Supra version. I had bought my copy directly from Supra but found that I needed one of the "generic" version patches instead. You…

From: Harry Callesis Amiga User Forum · Communications December 21, 1992 3:43 PM
Jeff – I've been told (by someone connected to GPSoftware) that GPFax will work with the USR Dual Standard/Fax. I haven't been able to experiment with it yet, but it might be worth looking into. This would be the "generic" version of GPFax, not the Supra-specific version that usually comes…
From: Harry Callesis Amiga User Forum · Amiga Hardware December 16, 1992 12:19 PM
Peter – OK, I misunderstood the flip-flop of which drive booted when. The only thing I can think of now is, perhaps the drive on the 2091 spins up slower than the one on the GVP. If it does, and its SCSI ID is higher than that of the GVP…
From: Harry Callesis Amiga User Forum · Amiga Hardware December 15, 1992 1:33 PM
I may be mistaken here, but I believe booting in 68000 mode turns off the GVP card – I know the memory goes, and I wouldn't be surprised if the HD is inaccessible as well because of this. I think the onboard SCSI feeds directly into the 32-bit memory, and…

Daniel – I recently got GPFax and have not had any trouble getting PageStream to print. You've probably already thought of this, but what are your memory stats? I've had experience with past versions of PageStream that it isn't too careful about allocating memory, though the current version hasn't caused…

Steve – I've always thought that kind of silly myself. I mean, even if the majority of 9600-capable users _aren't_ using HST, at least allow the ones who _do_ have HST to get the 14.4K+ throughput that the modems CIS already has online are capable of. Allowing the modems to…

Jonathan – The RPM adjustment is actually mad via the Sybil connector (there's an adjustment pot on it). According to the docs, it's necessary in order to make the thing work right. Maybe for your application it won't be, but I'd still talk to them about it if you have…
