Thanks for solving that mystery of life, now I can go onto the next mystery. I was able to solve my problem by grabbing the images from tape and viewing them with my Targa+. When viewing the frame with the flash I could easily tell I had the right frame.…

The camcorder are just consumer grade equipment, therefore I would guess that it does not have drop frame, right? I put standard SMPTE timecode (non-drop frame) then inserted the video from the Hi8 camcorder onto the SVHS tape in the Panasonic AG7750. Shouldn't that work?
