#164271 New Pagestream Message #164331
From: Fred Schuchman Amiga User Forum · Word Processing/DTP September 17, 1994 11:45 AM
Jon- You might want to check out the "ReadMe.Now" text in the pagestream3 directory. Everything that you are complaining about is addressed in this file. My installation only required about 11.5 mb on the harddrive and, even though certain features are disabled in this initial release, I'm amazed at some…
#148441 GPFax init string Message #148561
From: Fred Schuchman Amiga User Forum · Communications May 25, 1994 3:34 PM
You mention version 2.4x of GPFax. I've only seen patches up to 2.342 (which I'm currently running). Where can I get the latest patches you speak of? Fred
Terminus SWREG? Message #121481
From: Fred Schuchman Amiga User Forum · Communications November 11, 1993 12:10 PM
Will you be offering online registration of Terminus through SWREG? My registration would have been in by now if this option were available. I dislike writing and mailing checks. Fred

GPFax works just fine at 14400 between 2 Supra modems. I have faxed numerous times from my Supra to a friend's Supra at this speed. Fred
#110078 Floptical Drive Message #110114
From: Fred Schuchman Amiga User Forum · Amiga Hardware August 11, 1993 12:32 PM
I always use the quick format for formatting my flopticals and it takes only a few seconds. I haven't run into any problems yet (knock wood) and I have 12 disks! Fred
#106613 Modem config script Message #106674
From: Fred Schuchman Amiga User Forum · Communications July 9, 1993 3:11 PM
You might want to try resetting the modem to factory defaults by issuing at&f2&w. The &f2 is factory default 2 which is recommended for Amiga and ibm use and the &w will rewrite the config to the modem. This factory setting has always worked for me, but I've made a…
#Modem config script Message #106432
From: Fred Schuchman Amiga User Forum · Communications July 7, 1993 2:48 PM
A suggestion: Please make the modem configuration script optional, or state in the README file how to quit this, as it wrote over my customized internal modem settings which I had to spend time resetting. Remember that people use other programs with their modems as well – not just your…

Import text? Message #58364
From: Fred Schuchman Amiga Vendor Forum · Softwood June 7, 1993 1:17 PM
Is there any way possible to directly import and insert ASCII text into an existing FC2R2 document? I need to be able to do this to import text that is generated in list format from Superbase. If it is possible through AREXX, could you guide me through the process with…
FC2R2 font paths Message #58209
From: Fred Schuchman Amiga Vendor Forum · Softwood June 4, 1993 2:10 PM
Why doesn't FC2R2 use relative references to the font directory? I have my tooltype set as FONTDRAWER=fcfonts/swolfonts and feel that the full path should not be saved in the document (i.e. volume name, etc.). It would be easier to transfer documents among varying system setups. On another matter, you stated…

WP is reliable for me. Now, please, no flames, as I would prefer a different (more modern) interface as well, but it does work here. This is with version 4.1.12. Fred
#18779 #2.04 Problem Message #18797
From: Fred Schuchman Amiga Tech Forum · Ramblings January 7, 1992 2:39 PM
I have installed 2.04 in 2 different a2000 machines and saw a small speedup in general operations, so maybe you need to investigate your system in more detail and look for a possible older program that is not working as well as you might think (i.e. slowing everything else down.)…

I use WordPerfect when I wish to use the DJ500 proportional Times font. As much as I dislike WP's interface, it is one of the only programs that supports printers' internal fonts with their own drivers. Fred

I don't have the number handy, but the BBS is on the normal support phone number after business hours. The number is in the rear of the manual and no validation is necessary. Unfortunately, you'll have to grab most of the files they have to get up to 4.02a! Fred
From: Fred Schuchman Amiga Tech Forum · System Software December 23, 1991 12:58 PM
The current version is 4.02a. I was on their BBS the other night and it is there in a few archives depending on the version you are updating from. Fred

Maybe you should rethink your marketing again. I will be purchasing a 9600 baud modem this year and I'm not interested in 2 modems or one that operates at 2400/9600fax. I am beginning to see generic modems that are both 9600 v.32 and fax which makes a lot more sense…
#27437 Baud Bandit Message #27533
From: Fred Schuchman Amiga User Forum · Communications July 6, 1991 4:38 PM
I've been using BaudBandit since it was released – first on an A2000 and now on an A3000 under 2.0. It has always worked reliably for me with the B option turned on here. Fred
I still am waiting for my "perfect" tools menu program. I would like one more along the lines of MyOwnMenu where you can have submenus as well as a second and third menu listing. I'll just have to wait a bit longer.:-) Fred
I must confess that I only briefly used AddTools before switching to Amidock. Fred
I also had a window staying open with AddTools, but found out that it was due to my use of Conman. Once I went back to the stock console handler everything (including a few other programs) returned to "normal" when opening shells or background tasks. Fred

I'm using the same setup as yours – Mitsubishi/2320 – with the Mitsubishi factory supplied cable and it works fine. If you still have flicker, you might want to have your dealer check it out. Fred
#10294 2320 problems? Message #10408
From: Fred Schuchman Amiga User Forum · Amiga Hardware December 21, 1990 5:58 PM
I tried the color test someone else suggested and it looked ok to me, but in DPaint with the standard pallette, two of the grays end up being the same color. That's the only problem I've noticed and I didn't bother investigating any further. Fred

I purchased the 2320 and a Diamondscan monitor. The monitor came with 2 cables of which one had the required connections for the 2320 without any modifications. So for a 2320, don't let anyone try to sell you an unneeded cable! Fred

I have a 2000 with a 68010 chip installed and was curious as to whether I would lose this chip with its small speed improvements with your 2000 adaptor board. I am interested but maybe not enough to lose my "cheap" accelerator! Fred
From: Fred Schuchman Amiga User Forum · Hot News and Rumors October 28, 1990 1:53 PM
Maybe you could try the DEB adaptor from Microway? Don't know if it works with the A2320 though. Fred

You left out BaudBandit which was released this summer. I'm using it now and it supports w,x,y,zmodem and quick B protocols. Also it is a very compact program and efficient weighing in at about 70K bytes, has ARexx ports for scripting, clipboard cut and paste, and a mini-script language for…

From: Fred Schuchman AmigaTech · Expansion Hardware January 2, 1989 4:49 PM
I've run into a problem with the clock software from my Insider – it's reading the correct hardware clock date but setting the system to the previous day's date. This started occuring on Jan 1, 89. My clock software dates back to early 87. If you don't have a fix…
