What kind of HD do you have with the Zeus 040 board?
It was actually 11MB in 3.5 seconds (~3.3MB /sec). I read in a recent AmigaWorld that the 040 Zeus accelerator is a FAST SCSI-II controler card… I wonder if anybody ever tried it?

Is the SuperGen from Digital Creations A1200 compatible??? I tried one and the computer does not boot with it is connected!!?
#FAST SCSI
Message #93313
Does anybody know about a FAST-SCSI controler named Z3 FAST-LANE that is supposed to offer more than 3MB/sec of real life transfert rate in Synchrone mode?? For example, this controler could give you 3.3MB/sec with a Quantum LPS 240MB drive that is giving only 1.15 MB/sec on the A2091/GVP or…
You probably have a bab 1MB agnus… the % of return on these chips is high these days…
What's new in the 2.1 Janus software!?? Isn't it the one that is shipping with the A2386sx Bridgeboards for months!??

#Maxtor 80MB & A1200
Message #91059
Not so long ago a read a message here containing information on how to configure mask & max transfer values for a A1200 using a 2.5 inch 80 MB Maxtor IDE drive… could somene repost the information!? Thanks!
Any Y/C specifications??
Same thing appended to us with Maxtor 200MB drives… we called CBM and they told us to remove a specific jumper that was marked as "reserved" on the drive and it did correct the problem… maybe you shold call you dealer.
There is a big difference between ELS and LPS drives. I don't have my results with me now, but when I used to have 600-800k/sec with a 52 &105 Mb LPS drive, and 1000-1200k/sec with the 120 & 240 Mb LPS drives I only get about 400-500k/sec with the new…
Big Seagate drives are fast… to be truth, they are not Seagate drives… Segate bought a few months ago the complete CDC (Control Data) line of drives which where the fastest at this point and put their name on it.
It is about 3 times faster compared to an A2000-040 equiped.
First, if you want Anim speed, the A4000 is definitly your choice!! my first impressions are that anims are about 3 times faster than an Amiga 2000 and about 1.8 times faster than an Amiga 3000. But at least with an Amiga 4000 you have more resolution and more much…

Quantum ELS and MUCH slower that LPS drives… I prefer Maxtor for speed!
Syquest drive does not fit correctly inside the A4000 it the 50 pins data connector is hooked to the drive it looks that C= went to close to the 5"1/4 specification in designing the A4000 bay and forgot that there is a 5 pins connector that goes in the back…
#A1200: First Impressions
Message #85025
I made a 640×400 16 colors anim with Lightwave converted it with rend 24. I tested side by side with an Amiga 2000-Fusion Forty and an Amiga 4000. It ran 3 times faster on the A4000. The animation was vertical rotation of the lettre Chancery_A at about 3/4 the size…
The A2000 has 6MB ram (2MB chip/4MBfast). The IFF file is 325k big (169×659 pixels) Yes, I tested the software with different ram board in case of a bad chip… still the same result! 🙁
#ImageMaster problem
Message #47749
We have a problem with a customer using ImageMaster (v9.16 & 9.21) on an unaccelerated Amiga 2000… when loading some IFF24 pictures (scanned with a ES300C and ADpro)… the machine gurus when the message "decompressing picture" appears… and yes we are using the 68000 version when there is no accelerators…
PageStream allows you to choose between the preference drivers and the PageStream's own driver. If you wish to use the black cartridge of your DJ550C for color printing you will need to use either the DJ550 driver for Pagestream (Beta version) or a preference (not yet available from Commodore) for…
Ok, we just made a few more tests this weekend with the DJ550C driver for Pagestream and our results are… bad! 🙁 It now prints the right colors but it looks like that there is to much black ink printed… Also, when printing large pictures (say 8 inches wide) some…
No, they do not work together!
I called Ready Soft after experimenting the same problems with AMAX on a A4000 and they told me that they were aware of the problem (it does not work) and that they will come up with a fix as soon as they can get there hands on a A4000… but…
We just received our ImageFX software from GVP today and let me tell you that is is GREAT! Nice interface…, many features includind scanner interface, imageprocessing tools, painting tools, preview on the Amiga screen and framebuffer output, printer support, virtual memory drivers, AREXX port, AGA compatible, undo buffers, loaders and…
We haven't got that much time to fully test it yet but we can let you know that the actual workbench driver for the DJ 500C does not see the black cartridge while the color one is there! SoftLogic is working on a DJ550C printer driver right now. Without a…

#HP Deskjet 550C
Message #76095
We just received today at store a brand new HP Deskjet 550 color printer that is the replacement for the old HP Deskjet 500C which had to mix colors to make the black color in colors pictures. At least HP realised his error and released le 550C which now have…
I saw something strange yesterday on my A4000 equiped with the A2091… Quarterback transferts are in the 500-900k/sec with the same Syquest compared to about 50k/sec in Amiga DOS…. STRANGE!!? I will try adding some 16 bits fast ram on the controler.
We succesfully used a SuperGen with our in-store A4000. Works fine!
Yep! Reinstalling the systeme on the harddrive gave me back the transfert rate I expected (~650k/sec) with the IDE drive of the A4000… I still haven't found the way to make my syquest drive (connected to a A2091) to go over 50k/sec… I know it has to be in either…
Dpaint4 does not open its Hires screen in NON-Interlace… it looks like it does not support PROMOTION

Message #74242
We just received our in-store A4000 yesterday and let me tell you that the HAM8 images look GREAT!!! One thing to note… there is a problem with HD transfer rate… I get no more than 50kbyte/sec… there most be something wrong there… it should be in the 500-900k range… it…

The A600 isn't available in the US yet????! Both the bare system and the 40 megs HD version are available since first week of January here in Canada! I was almost sure they were available in the US too! Strange…

A570 CD-ROM here!
Message #73685
Good news! The A570 finally arrived in our store yesterday! It's a nice looking peripheral for the Amiga 500. At least now we can use CDTV tiles with the A500. There are a few things you should know: First, you need 1 meg of CHIP ram to use it and…

A3000 compatibility
Message #73306
We have problems with the following two products when using them with an Amiga 3000: Easyl (A2000 version) LIVE! (A2000 version) Could someone tell me if they had used them with either an Amiga 3000 or an Amiga 3000 Tower? With the Easyl I get bad answer (it traces zigzags…
Gigamem does NOT support 040 processor
I think that 8 Megs of chip memory will be available to A4000 owners as soon as these 8Megs 32bits simm become available (in a few months!)
My guess is that the A1200 would be a 68020 or 68030 A600 with the 3.0 and AGA chipset (2x A600 = A1200! 🙂
What is the compagny who makes the Transporter?
#ImageMaster
Message #45337
Is there a file on your ImageMaster disks describing the improvements done between updates? We now have version 9.13, 9.15 and 9.16 on our shelves but we do not know what is the difference between them! We also realised that version 9.16 file size is about 1.2MB.. twice as big…
Yes this is ok for the workbench screen but you still need to activate this option that I can't remermber the name to allow Dpaint and other programs to be in non interlace.
