Robert, You will get better response if you ask that question in the ARETAIL forum, where we support AutoSketch. Also it would be most helpful if you would indicate if this is for DOS or Windows AutoSketch. Lastly, in Black and White mode the DeskJet is compatible with the HP…

I don't think you are going to like my answers. First of all, it was my impression that when the programs were translated for metric use, that the symbols were also resized for standard sizes used in the UK and Australia. You might want to take this up with Autodesk…

Check the phone number you provided. Make sure that is valid. Also check the strings that get sent to initialize and dial the modem. The best support for ATO is found in section 1 of the IBMCOM forum.

Keller, You will get a better response if you ask your questions in the Autodesk Retail Products forum where AutoSketch is supported. You can use either GO SKETCH or GO ARETAIL to get to the forum. Message section 3 is for AutoSketch questions. See ya there.
Just FYI, the S3 based cards should NOT suffer the same bottle-neck that TIGA and 8514 cards suffer. With those type of cards you tend to operate either in the accelerated mode, or in a standard VGA mode via a Pass through type operation. From the way I understand things…
Lee, I think that the problem was perhaps not initially Diamond's fault. I think that S3 has some problems with their VESA compatibility, and I think that Diamond based their ROM's off of what S3 provided and carried the problems through. I believe that both firms are working on this…

Martin, More than likely you are confused because CompuServe keeps track of the highest numbered message you read, and will not show you older messages (keeps you from reading stuff over and over, and having to pay for it) unless you set back the "age" of the messages you want…

Hey, I'm just glad (he says doing the "aww shucks pebble-kicking shuffle") that I could be of assistance. I'm also proud that it all worked out, that you folks won you case, and that we get a bunch of free press out of it… And believe it or not, more…

I wonder if Alec will point out that he used CompuServe to gather information about software for thus purpose.. The forums (Both ARETAIL where he first started asking questions (before I referred him here), and ASOFT where he was able to speak with the developers of the program) played a…

Visitor, Your problem is that you are drawing to scale. Simply put, Don't Do That. Draw your stuff full sized (one of the benefits of a CADD program) then worry about scaling when it comes time to print. If you either GO SKETCH or GO ARETAIL (both take you to…

I think that HiJack can only read DXF files where AutoCAD is concerned, I don't remember it having the ability to read a DWG file.

Jim (James), Forgive me if this sounds like a sales pitch. I'm not in sales, I'm in support. If I was in sales I could probably manage to make this more subtle and/or compelling. I loved your message re proper time to evaluate programs (re wcedit) in the AutoCAD forum.…

In addition to the Student version of AutoCAD I would suggest Generic CADD 6.0 (list price $495, sold in places like Egghead and Software etc. for a significant discount). We also offer a 60 day money back satisfaction warranty. The prior version won the PC Mag editors choice for best…

Brian, In all fairness I must point out that AutoCAD was smart enough to "BUY" a significant portion of that 70% when they bought Generic Software almost three years ago. (Generic CADD has about 20-25% of the market when figured on a basis of # of users, the only fair…

Myron, I was going to tell you all about Generic CADD for the Macintosh, and our 60 day satisfaction warranty, but Malcolm beat me to it… So, I'll just say… "what he said" and leave it pretty much at that. OH yeah, if you have Questions about Generic CADD, either…

Well you would need a player. I suggest PLAY73.ZIP which is in LIB 9 because it was just uploaded and all new files (a month or less old) are located in LIB 9 You will also need PKUNZIP, which is one of the files in PKZ110.EXE which you can probably…
Grant, I think the user was asking about a 6300 PLUS, which is a 80286 machine. However I do agree with you, in the long run the user would be much better off to upgrade to a 386 or better yet a 486 system. If you spend the bucks for…
I'll pass that on to Lisa. I'll also tell her you referred to her as an "it"… :>

I Don't even think its POSSIBLE to put a VGA into an apple ][. Even if you could you would still be running the old 6802 processor, and ALL the software being discussed in this forum runs on Intel 8088/8086/80286/80386/486 based machines. Some of the software here (Animator-Pro and 3D…
Grant, the AT&T 6300(8086 based cpu) and 6300+(286 based CPU) do CGA plus their own special 640x400x2 mode. I think what he wants is a driver that supports the AT&T 640×400 2 color mode (which is very similar to the same mode supported by some Compaq and Toshiba machines from…
Actually the person you and I need to talk with is LISA, who is the one who wrote the DXF converter. What we have is good, but there are some really big gaps where polygons and holes are concerned.
Gary, Just go over to GENERIC and in LIB 9 you will find some nice big DXF files I uploaded. Many of them contain the entities that he is talking about. For example the side of the JENNY Bi-plane is a multi-verticed polygon that is translated to LINES in the…

Well yes to make USE of the comment field we would have to agree on a standard. Keep in mind that it's a comment, so it's SUPPOSED to be ignored unless the DXF processor knows that specific comments mean specific things. So in theory it would not break anything. I…

#895- Generic CAD to Animator Message #937
Well, Animator or Animator Pro? From CADD 5.0.5 we offer the ability to save in PCX format. And Animator has ways of reading PCX files. From 3D you would have to save in GX2 format and use a utility program (which we could probably send him) that came with out…
