Hey Greg, The clouds were modeled with Blob sculptor then I used Fog Object with the ghost, and pebbled texture to vary the normals of the object even more.

You'll have to get a polygon out of it somehow.. That's the issue with the Corel file, I believe..

Hi Stephen, I really enjoyed the images you've uploaded. Great work! I especially LOVE BLUBOOK.JPG & SCULPT.JPG. Truly inspiring…thanks for sharing them with us. Looking forward to seeing more! -GreG
>> But this would cause the map to be stretched looking on the top of the head. Yep, if there is any "detail" on the map at the edges you'll get that stretched look. You can always deform the head so that the top & bottom of the head is…

So you're saying I shouldn't just mess with the faces inside the mouth, but with the entire jaw, right? Thanks much for your help. Stephen

Ok…. Here are my thoughts on the reboot prob. It looks like a fetal memory error in windows (which is not displayed). The error could be coming out of the graphics driver or another driver that is getting hosed. The system memory becomes unstable when you put that kind of…

Lightwave vs Imagine
Message #11139
I'm a current (experienced) user of Imagine 3.2 for the PC. There seems to be a good deal of energy about the release of Lightwave 4.0 for the PC and I would very much like to move to a 32bit windows program for my rendering. My question is: Is there…
Hi Frank PMBI, why not duplicate your line, closing the ends with a tiny line, giving a closed shape. Even paper has three dimensions 🙂 – that's the only way I got a result anyway. Derek

Hi Jon,, Thanks for the imput. I suspect that I was responding to an optical illusion. (See my reply to Ian.) I do not believe that the position of the object above or above/behind the object will make much of a difference. But I'll take a look and see if…

I've had a little time to view your bmp. and scn.. Thanks for taking the efforts to explain yourself clearly. Since I've been mostly away from the computer, I have been studying the question out here in the real not_so_virtual_world with mixed results. I have seen results that still give…

Great Reply, John. You really made me think about how good this would actually be. If there ever was a standard file format it would have to be updated constantly. Every time a company created a new effect like bones. Also with bones there are several ways it is implemented…
Mike.. Still waiting for the fax..
I believe the MCI drivers are released to the public, but that doesn't mean that Adobe has written specifically to that device, using the new MCI drivers.. Hopefully sooner, but we'll see..

Tim tipped me off to the existence of this thread, so I'll jump in with both feet! My company makes InterChange, a program that translates between more than thirty 3D file formats, so I've got a special perspective on this topic. I'll start with a comparison. Consider all the bitmap…

reflections are wrong
Message #11116
Frank- If you think about it, the reflections will only run down to the viewer if the object is behind and above the edge of the reflective surface. However, if you put that object on the surface, the reflection can only be as it is in your file. -Jon

Snail movement

I don't get it… again I am trying to move an object in a "snail-like" movement. Therefore I create a simple deformation latice, set a keyframe for each end of the latice, skip to frame 12, move the front end of the lattice some inches, set a keyframe at frame…

Trouble with bones

David, Using your example: picture the lower jaw as a hemishpere with 13 wedges, with the hemi-sphere's left lip being the lower lip of the mouth. The small subgroup should be the first cross-section (lip wedge) at the left. The large subgroup should be all the cross-sections starting from the…
