#CD drivers Message #217146

Does anyone know where I can find a Toshiba CD-ROM driver and a Phillips CD-ROM driver to download for the PC? I want to use it with my e586. AMIGA—–The Future Is Now! Chris Shepard: 030/50 A2000 with Toaster 4000 & MacIIfx via Emplant.

Don, Yup, that was the problem all right. I also found the jumper for the floppy drive—-it's 301, not 103. (Just for someone else's reference.) Things are working beautifully now; thanks. AMIGA—–The Future Is Now! Chris Shepard: 030/50 A2000 with Toaster 4000 & MacIIfx via Emplant.

I think I know why. I read in the latest Video Toaster mag that the only "authorized" release of 3.1 was for the 4000. All of the other 3.1 chips are "unauthorized" releases, so maybe this is why EA did nothing to support 3.1. NewTek also say the same thing…

I hope some of you out there with experience on Syquest drives can help me out. I just installed an internal 270 Syquest and mounted it where my internal second floppy (DF1) used to be. I've connected the drive up to my GVP SCSI board as unit 6, and it…

I just installed an internal 270 Syquest drive, and I had to remove my second internal floppy to do it. My question: I still have an external floppy hooked up (It was DF2:), but my computer isn't acknowledging that it's there. I get an icon on my WB that says…

Maybe it's because the 4000T is aimed here at the US market, like the 1200 is aimed at the Europe market? I think there's more of a demand for 4000T's over here for the video industry—–I know I want one.

I doubt it. I'm confident that the 4000T/060 will be sold out quick the minute they're released, and those that missed the chance will demand more. From what I understand, there is still a market for Amigas in the Video arena. AT would be fools that to pick up on…

Karl, I have a machine that plays PAL/NTSC/SECAM and all the rest, so I've got that covered. The price for shipping is a good question, and one I wouldn't know. My guess is that it wouldn't cost that much to ship it; I mean, the tape isn't that heavy. You're…

Kermit, Step 1: create an image in Lightwave/Toaster, or download a picture in JPEG, GIF, or ILBM that is not 800×600. Step 2: Load files into TV Paint, resize, and save as 800×600 ILBM. If GIF: load into IFX, convert to ILBM, load into TV Paint. Step 3: Load resized…

Hmmm, I thought it was the other way around. If you mean putting color pics in the background, then yes. IMHO, the Workbench is still better than the MacOS. You can view files by icon, name, (no small icon), or whatever. I don't know of a way to do 'aliases'…

This is true, Bryan. Although I don't have VLM, my local dealer said if I wanted to get one that the Magnum 040/33 by CSA was the only board fast enough to handle VLM. Whenever Macrosystem comes out with the 060, it too will be fast enough—faster, actually. Waiting till…

Most definitely! I assume you have a 2000 or a 3000 since you have 2.1. 3.1 supports 24 bit graphic boards, allowing you to have AGA emulation on the Workbench. There's also a lot of other improvements that warrant the upgrade. It's like breathing new life into your Amiga; you'll…

Dirk, Yes they are. Some Toaster effects by third parties aren't, but Pro Wipes is advertised to work like standard Toaster effects. There's 3D effects, wipes, fades, warp effects, matte effects, animated effects, and if I had a 4000—color effects. I've been impressed by what I've seen so far with…

Dirk, If I understand this correctly: assuming I was mixing 10 music videos with fades/effects inbetween, I would first record each video to VLM (order doesn't matter) without mixing them, program VLM the order the videos will be played, and finally tell VLM which effects I want inbetween the videos…

For about $400 you can get the CSA Derringer 030/50 mhz accelerator with a 50 mhz FPU. It plugs into the 68000 slot and was designed for the A500, but also works in the 2000 (which I have mine in.) I bought mine mail order from DeVine Computers 1-302-738-9046. M-Tec…
