Brian, is there a way (switch, etc.) to make AAPLAYHI run a script without first checking out the existance of every blinkin' image file in the script? With a long script and many images (and those residing on a CDROM) there is a looooong delay before display begins as the…

From: Carl Finch Autodesk Multimedia Forum · Wishlist November 11, 1994 2:22 PM
In compulsively playing around with R4 plug-ins (only moments out of the box) and checking out the Randy egret before reading the tutorial, I inadvertantly saved the file (ch6tuta1.3ds) in a most disreputable state. No big deal, just grab another copy off the diskette, right? Easier said than done, especially…

I've just installed R4 "over" my existing R3. When I attempted to execute it for the first time via: 3ds vibcfg I immediately (before the "Starting 3DS" message) got the message: Abnormal Program Termination: Page Fault CS:EIP = 000Fh:0026BEE9h I am, as before, using HIMEM. Help, pleeeze!

I've tried this, but it only creates a "backface" sort of line removal–not complete hidden line removal. So I also create an opaque clone inside each object (and slightly smaller) which does the trick. Thanks for your help!

Hidden Line Removal Message #128168
I would like to be able to print a clean-looking image of a 3ds mesh, with hidden lines removed. I've tried the 3ds.mli material called "FACEMAP HIDN LIN," but it looks weird on long objects. The long edges appear sharp, but the short edges are wide and shaded–no surprise considering…

Seamless Seemliness Message #94799
I just received Autodesk's brochure for Texture Universe which states that it contains "over 425 textures," and that "many" can be tiled seamlessly. While realizing that "seamless" doesn't necessarily imply useful–if it ain't fairly homogeneous, the result will look obviously "tiled"–about how "many" is that?
