Well, the chunnel is an hour and a quarter in the dark, not much scenery, and I'm a ferryboat fanatic anyway. Besides, going from London to Paris isn't going from Plymouth to Normandy — they are hundreds of miles apart.

We haven't heard much of this before, but it sounds like an out of memory problem (memory meaning printer memory) since the normal procedure is to create the numbers and then paint the lines.

We don't have enough firsthand reports yet to say one way or the other, but the curl problem was allegedly Fix Number One in priority at HP when the 5 was being developed.

Well, I make no brief for nor excuses for badly written copy, but that's all I ever saw. The problem is that there must be room for the grippers; you CAN get a full 11X17 area, but only if there is additional area on each sheet for that.

I'm using the 742 as well, but I got better results using Adaptec's ASPI4DOS.SYS than BusLogic's own manager! This might have changed in the almost a year since I got the drivers, though.
It's impossible to say what is causing the error, but I have found that this happens with Norton's Speedcache installed and it might well happen with other TSRs as well. Something is stepping on the MSCDEX/CORELCDX calls and bouncing them; this wrong message is the result.
