In response to your original question, I have not heard any of these rumors before. I, for one, would be interested in looking at any program of this sort that Dr Leary came up with. I doubt if it would be interesting, probably a psychology today type of amateur thing,…

Bill, I/m afraid I have to take serious exception to your remarks. South Africa is NOT a place where you can speak your mind and not worry about the police carting you off for indefinite detention without legal recourse. That situation is EXACTLY what happens to people who speak their…
#96610 Bridgecard Help Message #96695
From: David Lyall The Amiga Forum · Hardware December 5, 1987 1:16 AM
Mike, Your situation sounds similar to mine with a sidecar. When I first got it I wanted to mount a seagate 238 inside the floppy bay and basically run a no floppy pc clone. The total price for the sidecar and the 32 meg drive was about the same as…
Hurrican board Message #96541
From: David Lyall The Amiga Forum · Hardware December 4, 1987 12:55 AM
Shalom, I think that the ad was refering(sp?) to the speed of the 32bit ram as compared to the 16bit ram of the amiga. That should be quite a bit faster whether it is static or dynamic.
#92730 A2000 BRIDGEBOARD Message #92783
From: David Lyall The Amiga Forum · Amiga at Work November 10, 1987 12:05 AM
Odell, I have a SideCar with my 1000 and it sounds as if you may have either a software or a hardware problem. "Can't Find Library" sounds like there is a library of Janus stuff missing from the boot disk, not the Miz-Dos disk. On the other hand, the Miz-Dos…
From: David Lyall The Amiga Forum · Hot News & Rumors November 5, 1987 9:07 PM
Himanshu, I'm afraid that the 500 does not have any hardware Miz-Dos add-ons nor are any rumoured that I am aware of. The expansion options are different for all three Amigas. The Bridgeboard is a clone card for the 2000. The SideCar is a clone box for the 1000. The…

From: David Lyall The Amiga Forum · Hardware November 5, 1987 9:32 AM
Larry, I tried the newzap on popcli and blitz and it worked! Popcli now calls up a shell with A-esc and the buttons on Blitz are for Jh0: and VD0: instead of DH0: and RAM:

Larry, can I use the NewZap to make PopCli call up my Metacomco Shell instead of CLI?

I don't really know how the clipboard works with WP and transferring to a Miz-Dos window. THe support of clipboards is inconsistent between programs, it seems.
#SideCar Message #91685
From: David Lyall The Amiga Forum · Hardware October 31, 1987 6:10 PM
Chris, I have found my sidecar to be very useful. I run a Seagate 32 Meg RLL Hard Drive in my unit. Re-Boots are no problem. That sounds like a strange problem with the hardcard. I got the 32Meg for $350. I originally had it inside replacing the floppy, thus…
#89933- Internal Ram Expansion Message #90001
From: David Lyall Forum unknown · Hardware October 18, 1987 8:11 PM
Addmem is absolutely no big deal. Just put it in the startup-sequence and and works. probably takes no more time than auto congfig. The two brands (Insider & Spirit) are all I have heard of.

I got the HD bootable finally with a Y connector for the power supply. I now have disconnected the floppy and get the error, press F1 message. I'm going to try to find extensions for the power supply and floppy data connectors and string them outside to a non-powered external…

The train of discussion was about putting a hard disk inside the Sidecar to replace the floppy. I was wondering if it were possible to use the 5 1/4 that I now have by sitting it on the Sidecar box as an external drive, somehow. It seems like it should…

#70839- A2000 Trade-In Message #71225
From: David Lyall The Amiga Forum · Hot News & Rumors June 9, 1987 12:10 AM
The trade in could get very interesting for creative capitalists. I have seen A1000's for sale for $650 this week. A $1000 trade in plus a $650 A1000 equals a $350 discount on the current list price of a A2000.
#59155- Ed & Cltd Message #59491
From: David Lyall The Amiga Forum · Hardware March 18, 1987 10:34 PM
I'm sorry but I have to disagree with your premise. I feel that Mr Lippert's participation on the Forum has been very valuable. His feedback on his and other's products have been informative to me and, I'm sure, others. The relative value of the CLtd vs the Xebex Hard Drives…

I would be glad to hear your reasoned position on the IAM vis a vis your collective bargaining situation. Never having solicited E-Mail I am not sure what an address is. I assume that it is my CIS ID #. It is 74255,725

I beg your pardon. I assumed that 1/4 mil legal fees could only have been spent on 'labor relations consultants' to fight recognition. They are blood suckers on our economy. I could never have imagined that your jcollective bargaining expenses could ever reach such a level.

I'm still searching for anarcho-syndicalists. But I guess that was fashionable in a different generation.

What you are suggesting is revolution in the capitalist state. Good Idea. The enthusiatic product users should have a seat on the Board. Along with reps from the creative and production workers and a dealers organization. Think it'll happen. ?? No. This is america. Money doesn't talk it swears.

I have seen the game a few months ago at my dealer. Someone they know with connections at C=/Amiga in Los Gatos was supposedly working on it for commercial release. Its widespread free release in enthusiast circles seems to have sabotaged that idea tho.

I'm not familiar with thiset proposal but these 'free enterprise' discussions are getting to me. I think you freedom to money people should do a little reading about 19th century capitalism in the US. The unchecked power of the owners almost drove the country into a revolution. Go to preferences and select CLI ON. Save that preferences choice to exit. CLI should now be enabled inside the system file on the Workbench. Some people have said that they have to reboot after saving from preferences.

I have typed in xterm3.bas correctly, I believe and it does not work with my Novation J-Cat (newly purchased for the Amiga) The screen fills with XXXXs when connection is made. EZterm prints out very strange due to (I think) an extra quote in line 10. I read someone who…
