Dr T's Message #134285
From: Richard Rae/SYSOP The Amiga Forum · Audiophile July 12, 1988 12:44 PM
Last time I spoke to the programmer he was planning on developing a module to read/write IFF files. He was also planning to do a module to allow KCS to drive the Amiga's internal sound channels. I realize that magazine lead times make life difficult, but I do wish writers…
Dr T's Message #134159
From: Phil Saunders The Amiga Forum · Audiophile July 11, 1988 7:40 PM
The new issue of Amiga world has a review of Dr. T's KCS. The review mentions a conversion utility that allows KCS to read and write IFF files. My copy (bought the first week it was out) doesn't have this utility. Does anyone have more d details? Also what's the…

From: Barry Massoni The Amiga Forum · Audiophile July 11, 1988 7:33 AM
You've confused me, too. I also have version 1.4 and it is copy protected ( the version I have at least). Maybe they stopped protecting it, or let a copy slip by without it. If it Gurus when you start it, just clicking on it's icon, without loading DMCS then…
Dmusic/Soundscape Message #133820
From: Barry Massoni The Amiga Forum · Audiophile July 9, 1988 9:04 AM
John, I just caught this string. If your problem lies within the copy-protection of either DMCS or SS another approach is to remove it with Marauder II. It works on both-so long as you re-install SS. It won't stop SS from opening, but it might stop the Guru. Barry
#132996 Dmusic/Soundscape Message #133089
From: Ben Blish The Amiga Forum · Audiophile July 3, 1988 10:14 PM
Rick – rename SoundScape.library to SScape.library. Then use NewZap on soundscape to change ALL textstrings from soundscape.library to SScape.library and be SURE to null-terminate it correctly. That will fix it. You will also need to change any references in any other programs you have that try to open soundscape.library or…
#132866 #Dmusic/Soundscape Message #132996
From: Richard Rae/SYSOP The Amiga Forum · Audiophile July 3, 1988 11:35 AM
David's response is bang on the money. If you have soundscape.library in your assigned libs: directory, SoundScape WILL load when you call up DMCS. You either need to reassign LIBS: before startup (tricky), or rename the library. I have an exec file set up for those rare occasions when I…
#132866 Dmusic/Soundscape Message #132921
From: David Art The Amiga Forum · Audiophile July 2, 1988 9:34 PM
John, DMCS invokes Soundscape by design. That's so you can output DMCS scores to Soundscape via MIDI channels. My guess would be that since you have the soundscape.library in your libs directory, you will always invoke soundscape when running DMCS. I've found that it is not a very stable configuration…
#Dmusic/Soundscape Message #132866
From: John Pendergrass The Amiga Forum · Audiophile July 2, 1988 1:14 PM
Am having difficulty with a combo of DeluxeMusic and Soundscape (1.4). I have Soundscape installed on my hard drive, in drawer SS. I have aan "Assign Soundscape: dh0:SS" in startup file (so Soundscape can find what it wants). I have DeluxeMusic in another drawer. Problem: whenever I call DMusic, it…

From: David Art The Amiga Forum · Audiophile July 1, 1988 12:18 AM
Mark, I may be that the drum sounds are overloading the MT2X's input circuits. I have a spec sheet on the MT2X and it says that the input range is -56dB to -10dB with an absolute maximum of +10dB on channels 1 & 2, and -16dB to -10dB on channels…

As far as I know it's just called PLOT2PRINT or Plot-to-Print Converter; at least that's how the docs are titled. Again, give Aegis a call… they were the ones that gave us the lead. Rick

#127816 Scheme 1.7 Message #127945
From: Barry Massoni The Amiga Forum · Audiophile June 3, 1988 3:43 PM
An idea! Instead of a requestor that pops up every time an off screen object would be manipulated by Scheme (oh, boy could that get tedious fast) use one of the unused boxes in the palette and have it change if an off screen item is selected. That way the…

Walter, Rick says there is a program that converts HPGL to Epson commands to run an Epson printer. Either follow this thread or I'll try to get you the name. Barry

It was definetly something else then. The one I used was in Basic. Do you remember the name. It might be nice for test plots, if its faster than a plotter. Barry

From: Richard Rae/SYSOP The Amiga Forum · Audiophile June 3, 1988 9:30 AM
I don't think you remember trying it. This package most definitely isn't written in BASIC (unless it's compiled). You get about a dozen versions, from single-density narrow carriage to enhanced quad-density quick plot wide carriage, and you just use the one you want for your application. Rick

6- the question is, how many wires _are_ needed? What if a wire enters loom1, continues to loom2, exits, new wire enters loom3, continues to loom4, while other wires go loom1-2-3-4… See the problem? 7-screen redrawing has been addressed several ways. It's faster – quite a bit. Some redraws have…

I remember trying that (is that the one written in AmigaBasic?) and couldn't get it to work. Dosen't it need a wide carrige Epson or something? I'm not terribly concerend though, I'm using an Western Graphtec MP 2000 that is just great (and cheap). Barry

There is another way. If Walter has an Epson or Epson compatible printer, there is a program called PLOT2PRINT that will convert an HPGL plot file to an Epson bit-map. There are versions for 9 and 24 pin printers. The program is fairly crude (it's hardcoded for DF0: and DF1:…

#125375 Used DX-7 Message #125406
From: Richard Rae/SYSOP The Amiga Forum · Audiophile May 19, 1988 9:10 AM
If it's clean, and really is in working order (not just "apparently"), then that sounds like a good deal. The DX7 has been replaced by some new models, but the basic structure is sound (no pun intended), so you're not really buying old technology. I'm planning on hanging on to…
#125355 #SoundScape – DMCS Message #125405
From: Richard Rae/SYSOP The Amiga Forum · Audiophile May 19, 1988 9:10 AM
How are you starting DMCS? It seems to be VERY finicky in this configuration. I've found it to be most stable by opening a new cli, CDing to the directory which contains the DMCS stuff, then typing DELUXEMUSIC. Trying to RUN it almost guarantees me a crash on exit. (This…

#SoundScape – DMCS Message #125355
From: David Art The Amiga Forum · Audiophile May 19, 1988 12:33 AM
Rick, I finally got a chance to try sending DMCS tracks to SounsScape without turning on the DMCS "Send Midi Clock" option. It worked fine and I got all the tempo changes. I don't have any explanation for why I couldn't get it to work before. The only hitch was…

Nope, I've had no problems with my system. I am running a DX7, a DW6000, three TF1s, and an SPX90, all chained together with the DX7 as the master, and all looping through the Amiga. I've never seen the problems you're mentioning, which sound extremely severe. I can't recall if…

Rick, I've browsed a bit thru AudioMaster but haven't yet been able to find the colortable. I figured each of the elements would be in the 0x0RGB format used by LoadRGB4() (where 0RGB is a 16-bit value con- sisting of 4 bits each of R, G, and B, with the…

Rick, I've tried in the past to work with the SS clock, but never had any success. I just assumed that it couldn't be done, but since you've gotten it to work I'll try again. Maybe my SS clock speed was too slow. I don't understand your comment that you…

In addition to what John has suggested, realize that you can do a lot of "creating" by modifying sampled sounds. For example, need a gong sound? Using a very high data rate, sample yourself banging on a pot lid, then slow it WAYYYYY down. It's really quite amazing what you…

AudioMaster is alright, Nick. It's just that I was expecting (well, hoping) for THE audio tool… and AudioMaster isn't it. At least not for me. As for Synthia, it is darned impressive, and I'm working on a review for AC on it just now. There are a few things that…
