Well this thread sure got busy! The jumpers I needed were all the other ones on the tape drive. I was finally able to get some help from the support department from where I bought it. For some reason, it won't work with buffered mode on a 3000. Any ideas…

If I remember correctly, the only tough part is the quite time specifcation in the SoundBlaster format. You would have to put the appropriate number of zero volume level bytes into the IFF file.
