The reason for navigating by Pubs, shops, cinemas etc. is that as an old country we have honed our perception of our surroundings to the items of importance. Roads are named for far away place, old battles and corrupt politicians so they have little significance. By memorising places of use…

Try the NEC 3000, 2 types of Thermal Wax and _Dye-Sub_ at 300×300 dpi on A4 for approx L650 ( that should be under $1,000)…. similar to the Fargo but better build quality and a more sensible resolution. Lets face it the Fargopro says 600×300 but most of the time…

The visuals for the game were very basic, I just played bits on to tape direct, through a genlock board. At least nobody could accuse me of cheating the visualisation. But the script, V/O and track were fun. As I remember Virus the game play was a bit lacking, the…

Eeek! An Electron owner, I produced the launch(video, slides stage show etc.) for the Electron and as a result ended up working for Acorn full-time. It didn't have a drive controller but you could plug a complete expansion chassis in the back which contained a 3.5 drive and 2 slots…

Y'know I've always assumed that the mystery person at M&M was male, from the general tone of voice. But I just noticed that these self-important, off-target,"Chicken Little-ish" rants only occur at regular, longish intervals… maybe its a bad case of _PMT_. keep taking the IPAS Grahame

Yes that sounds like another possibility, it's a good idea to bring everything within bounds before importing to 3DS if you start working outside of the envelope horrible things can happen to the geometry. Grahame

Kevin This sounds like a scaling problem, the project file saved to the network directory does not include any changes made in the scaling control (ctrlU). If you have been merging stuff, and loading from DXF have you, st any time switched units etc. in this box. If the scale…

Nik uStation can create polyface meshes in DXF (and .DWG) files which only have two vertices. ACAD12 (and probably 13) will accept these files but will pass the entities on un-corrected into a new DXF file. As far as I know uStation will reject these .DXF files (so if some…

Jonas Many thanks for the fax, looks very useful. I am just going away for some overdue R&R so texture vertices will just have to wait! I'll pick it all up again when I return and hopefully I will have something usefull to post shortly afterwards. TVM Grahame.

Ed I have the basics working but it relies on a regular vertex ordering. I need to make it work with arbitary geometry before it will be reallly useful. Watch this space I do intend to finish it and will be happy to share it. Grahame

PMJI Tom I'm a little worried about your procedure here, why are you rendering to 288 lines? Does the Fast board interpolate out to full PAL or is it that you think you need to render each field separately. 3DS correctly interlaces the fields into a single frame with user…

Ted's reply is true enough that, unlike some renderers, 3DS will correctly render intersections. BUT if you want to use shadows and reflections it is really important to take care over the construction and placement of objects. I think the manual will give you chapter&verse but essentially the realler you…

Hi Greg I use a TDS-Numonics LCII (highly recomended for build quality), it has a built in summaMM emulation. I use the hardcoded SUMMA driver in 3DS. I have mice but definitely prefer the tablet, especially since YG sorted out the behaviour of animation editing in 3DSR3. Grahame
#66642 Vibrant Message #66974
Luis You need to configure the driver by typing "3ds vibcfg". This will take you into the Vibrant configuration screen, its pretty obvious from there. I looked in the Cirrus section, the largest seems to be 1024×768, there is no point in using more than 640×480 for Medit, in fact…
