Message #34618
Hi, Ken – Any Amiga MIDI interface should work just fine! Adam Nitti
Barbara: Good News! There is an updated driver on our BBS which takes care of this problem. (You weren't doing anything wrong.) As it turns out, the original Proteus driver was created on an XR. It was our understanding originally that the XR and the Proteus handled their banks in…

Hi Barbara – I am sorry you are having problems. I'm not sure exactly what you are doing wrong, so I have passed this on to the author of the Patchmeister to get her feedback. I will let you know immediately what I find out… Talk to 'ya soon- Adam…

Glad to hear it's fixed, Thomas! Let me know if I can ever be of any assistance. Adam Nitti
That's a very neat trick! I saw them at Comdex this year. The development team here is tinkering away, but I'm not able to disclose anything specific about upcoming releases. All I can say is "stay tuned" for more information! Adam Nitti

The Blue Ribbon Connection has just been upgraded to 9600 baud. (Sorry for the inconveniences 2400 baud might have caused anyone!) The BBS number is 404-315-0211. Adam Nitti The Blue Ribbon SoundWorks
Please do – I want to make sure everything is working correctly for you. Talk to 'ya later… Adam Nitti
#B & P MIDI Problem
Message #34077
Hi, Thomas! Dominick and Howard are on the right track… I don't really understand why your system is playing the things that it is, based on your setup; but I don't understand why my system at home plays the way it's set up, either! However, you may want to consider…
Geez – I'm blushing! -Adam
Great! Have fun… Adam Nitti
GM stands for the General MIDI format, and you can load and save to this format using MuFFy or sMerFF. I haven't forgotten about the upload idea. I hope a lot more people get into doing the same thing… Adam Nitti
Hi, Thomas! When Bars&Pipes Pro 2.0 creates its screen, it generates it in the same width as the Workbench screen, so you might want to work with the Overscan Preferences in Workbench. The only other solution would be to keep the icons in the Icons window. I hope this helps…
Hi, Barbara – First of all, have you browsed through the different conferences? There are some good things lying around. Keep in mind much of the best info is disclosed in customer correspondence via the message menus. We strongly encourage people to share their knowledge on the BBS. Yes, there…
I'll pass this stuff onto Dave and make him aware of the details. Thanks!
Hi, Gary- We do not have an 03R/W on site. Since driver creation is an extremely interactive process which requires the synth be available during the driver's construction, we are not able to readily execute diagnostics on it. Also, please understand that the beta drivers were made available primarily as…
Hello ! I understand what you are talking about, because I have an Alesis D4, as well. It is definitely a good idea if it can be reasonably implemented. I have passed it on to the relative "powers that be," in order to bring this to their attention. Thanks a…
Here you go, Howard: > I've recently added the Sunrize AD516 to my system, it seems to be working >pretty well with v 2.0a. Have any problems been reported with the AD516 tools >after upgrading to 2.0b. I'm a bit hesitant to jump into 2.0b, I'm just now getting >2.0a…
OK, will do!
Hi, Thomas- Thanks for the nice comments. We don't have anything available right now, but I am going to try and do a lot of that, myself in the future. I would like to see lots of people exchanging B&P/SuperJAM! songs both on our BBS and up here. Are you…
That would be great, Howard. I will be doing the same as soon as I finish up a few tasks here at work. Thanks a lot- Adam Nitti The Blue Ribbon SoundWorks

Hi, Gary- Did you ever find out if you had the latest ROM version for your Korg?
No, there are MANY more than that. There are 8 available file libraries, and each has several downloadable files categorized by type. I will find out why you weren't recognized as being registered and figure out what happened. (Registered users have access to much more on the BBS.) I will…
I'll get with Mark and try out your files… I will keep you posted on the results. Thanks! -Adam
I tried to call you about 8 times, and let it ring forever, but I never reached you!!! Were you out Tuesday and Wednesday nights? I am VERY upset I missed Salerno's! I ended up eating horrible Italian food at Puglio's with the IBMers. What's your excuse???
Thanks for the info, Howard! > I upgraded B&P_Pro (via patch) and found the quantize tool had stopped working, has that been reported? 2.0 > 2.0b Actually, the Quantize tool has been updated. It should not have stopped working; instead, it should have worked better! Keep in mind that the…
You are correct. The effects of the mute buttons are not recorded. The only events that are recorded are the panning knob and volume slider events. A work around is to drag the track's slider all the way to the bottom, thereby silencing the track. Thank you for your suggestions.…
Hey, Bob! Sorry I haven't been more available lately. I have been out of town for the last two weeks doing PC Expo and some vacation time. Which files did you upload? Did you send them to Mark? -Adam
Hey, Paul! Sorry I have not been more available lately. I have been out of town for the last two weeks doing PC Expo and a little vacation. Have you tried dialing again since? We must have had a power outage or something. The same thing happened to me the…

Greetings! I'm just letting everyone know that if they don't hear back from me in the next week, it's because I will be attending PC Expo in NY demonstrating SuperJAM! for Windows. I will return ALL of my messages when I get back. Thanks! Adam Nitti The Blue Ribbon SoundWorks
Paul: I have gone ahead and made the file available to you on our BBS. Unfortunately, I can't upload the revisions to any other sources, because of the detrimental after-effects of piracy. We want to make sure that we are only supporting the registered users of our products. Posting them…
Hi Howard! Thanks for the Passport information. In addition to the MIDI file problems you mentioned, I have had many reports of syncronization problems from their products, as well. Let me know if you discover anything else of interest… As for our future plans for Windows, I am not able…
Hi Bob! Unfortunately, we will not be uploading any updates or revisions onto Compuserve. This is because we want to make sure that only registered users have access to this free service. Posting revisions on Compuserve (or any other BBS) would make our patches available to EVERYBODY, and we are…
Hi, Thomas! I checked out the file you were having problems with (AMER.LHA). Both sMerFF and MuFFy revealed the same symptoms you were experiencing. BUT, the problem does not reside in either of these tools. There was a single gremlin causing all of the problems in the resulting MIDI files:…

Bob: I tested SmerFF output in the Windows 3.1 Media Player, and… (gulp!), I didn't have any problems. I am trying to get a copy of Encore and try that, too. If it "barfs," I'll let you know. (More clues, maybe?) As for your measure numbers problem, we have tested…

Hey, Paul! We have a new and improved ANiMal tool which you can download from our BBS (404-315-0211). This one fixes the overscan problem. We are still working on the fix for the Last Slide Show problem, though. I'll keep you posted on it. I hope this helps you out!…
Hi, Thomas: Thanks- I'll get on it right away… -Adam
Bob: Hello! I passed your experiences onto some others here, as well, and we still cannot seem to reproduce it. HOWEVER, I am not giving up!!! If you can keep dishing me new clues, it would really help. I am sorry I cannot give you a more definitive answer as…
Hi, Paul! I'm finally back online. Can you refresh my memory as to what type of problems you are having? Thanks, Adam
Hi, Tom- That seems kind of strange… In Bars & Pipes 2.0, Muffy was affectionately replaced by the sMerFF accessory. sMerFF has some updates. Could you upload the MIDI file and/or song file to us here at our BBS? I will be glad to check it out for you. Obviously,…

Yes, definitely a typo! (oops) I am still trying to reproduce what you have described to me, and I can't seem to get it to happen. Are you scrolling a page at a time, or a single click of the scroll arrow at a time? Are you in interlaced mode?…

Hello, Marcel! Currently we do support sampling and digitized audio through Bars & Pipes in conjunction with the Sunrize AD516. The AD516 is a sampling card which can sample at up to 48kHz (the same rate used in pro DATs). This card, as well as Sunrize's Studio 16 (sampling, editing,…
Hi, Bob: Are you still using versions 1.0 for SuperJAM! and Bars & Pipes? I realize now that I may have misunderstood you. As I stated before in "SuperJAM! measure #'s," I have been investigating your reports with SuperJAM! 1.1 and Bars & Pipes 2.0. Let me know which ones…
Bob: Hello! I read in your other letter that you were using SuperJAM! 1.0. I have been doing all my testing on version 1.1, which is the latest version. I repeated the process many more times just as you described it but still could not get the program to foul…
#SuperJAM! song saving
Message #29915
Bob: We are not aware of any problems with saving a SuperJAM! song from within Bars & Pipes Professional, but remember this: If you have saved a SuperJAM! performance, after loading a song you must reopen the SuperJAM! accessory inside Bars & Pipes in order to view this reflective change.…
