Dick, Thanks for the info. I am in Belgium, in fact. I think my machine dates from the period you quote, but I have not had the sheet feeding problem so far. If I come across anything for the Amiga, I'll let you know. Cheers, Pete

Philippe, Let us hope that the rumour is ill-founded, then. I registered SID2 with Timm right at the beginning and even featured it in an article for a Belgian computer magazine, but since then I have heard nothing from him. If you hear anything positive I'd appreciate it if you'd…

#216122 PC – Amiga …How?? Message #216148
From: Peter Jones Amiga User Forum · Business Apps October 22, 1995 5:54 AM
Mario, The simplest solution would be to connect your modem directly to the Amiga 3000 and use Autopilot to talk to CompuServe. If that is not practical, then you should be able to read the PC disks directly on the Amiga using CrossDOS, which is included with AmigaDOS 2.1 (I…

Asha, Can't make it this Saturday, I'm afraid. We shall be listening to a friend and his group playing blues and boogie in an intimate cafe setting and perhaps partaking of the odd glass of wine. So please mark me down as absent (apologies) and one vote for Friday. Cheers,…

>yes, exactly. I heard that the small memory card populating the accelerator slot could be upgraded to 1M giving you a total of 1.5 MB, but I never tried to do so.< Werner, I was advised against it by friends at Commodore Belgium. Can't remember why, though. Pete

>And from what I remember the original Amiga 2000 looked just like the eventual Amiga 2000B. The only way to tell the difference between a 2000 and a 2000B (apart from looking at the motherboard) was to look round the back at a sticker.< Jeff, There was a small modification…

Stefan, Can you be more precise about what happens when "the connection breaks down shortly afterwards". The strange characters are nothing to worry about. After you see them, that window should disappear. A few seconds later, since you are using AmiTCP-demo4.0-, a window should appear announcing AmiTCP4.0, on which is…

Rafael, Legibility/readability. Interesting point. They can be synonyms, but there is a definite nuance nowadays, where legibility means that you can decipher the characters on the page and make sense of them, and readability means how interesting the text is. Pete

Most UK dealers take the dollar price of a computer, remove the dollar sign and replace it with a pound sign. When attacked, as they frequently are in the mags, they try to claim it's because of shipping and taxes and the smaller market. Yeah! Pete

Bart, See the comment from Karl. It's true that I do not get any CRC errors, just a slow down or stoppage of the incoming data, so It doesn't appear to be the line that is the problem. Pete
