Guy, Let people know where you're located and perhaps there is an ATC near you to team up with. Many forum members will be at Autodesk University in SF this week so you may have to wait for an answer. Good luck. -Ted Boardman

Umeadi It looks like you've gotten some good info from others on maps. Reread the 3DSr4 manual sections on map filtering 7-183, 9-50 and the section on Pixel size on page 7-213. I also use Kodak CD-ROM images taken with a 35mm camera to create my own maps. It's about…

From: Ted Boardman Autodesk Multimedia Forum · Hware/OpSys/video September 22, 1995 8:03 AM
Albert It really is an erase function. Flip the pen over and erase what you just painted. I tried it out at Siggraph and as soon as I'm 100% sure it supports WinNT I'm getting one. -Ted Boardman
#192063 Novice's 3d question Message #192088
From: Ted Boardman Autodesk Multimedia Forum · Autodesk 3D Studio September 22, 1995 8:03 AM
Jez In the 3DLofter use Path/Get Shaper. Use Path/Move Vertex, etc to adjust the path in the 3rd dimension. Setting snaps in Views/Drawing Aids and typing S to use the snaps will help a lot. Have fun -Ted Boardman

Umeadi Your hotspot may be caused by an omni light being too close to the object. Ambient light should generally be kept to 10 or less and the ambient color of the material (keep it quite dark) can also have a profound effect on material hotspots. I'm heading out of…

From: Ted Boardman Autodesk Multimedia Forum · Shipping/Receiving September 20, 1995 10:38 AM
Geoff Fli's/Flc's are using delta compression(?). First frame is stored completely, subsequent frame are only storing changed pixel info. There was a description of Flc's in Dr. Dobbs Journal last year, but I can't find a reference for it. Maybe someone else has the info. -Ted Boardman

From: Ted Boardman Autodesk Multimedia Forum · Autodesk 3D Studio September 19, 1995 7:47 AM

Paul Try using DXFOUT and adjusting the DXF-ARC-DEGREES = to a lower number, that may help. I presume it's the perimeter of objects against the background you want smoother, not the surface of the object? Do you use Optimize after creating dense objects? It might be worthwhile to keep the…
